Scott "Diamond" Diamond vs. Joe "Cupcakes" Blanton
100 left to go after this one.

100 wins after this one? The rest of the season should be a lot of fun!
Blanton's nickname is Cupcakes.
Noted. Won't let me update from my phone.
Diamond is pitching? Dammit, I need to write faster... *waits to update everything*
Lotsa weathah in Minny tonight.
Does Diamond throw a cutter? 'Cause he totally should.
DDP!
Provus factoid: Ji Jim has 1 2 3 4 and 6 longest dingers at the Target.
Hmm, trivia that's not from Gladden's playing career or the two Twins World Series win? It's a brave new broadcast, eh?
And not from Japan or Mankato!
Scotty's got 'em right where he wants 'em
a non-Jeremy RH pitcher? I predict an M&M slugfest
SEND HIM!!
That makes Revere 20-49 (0.408) in June and has raised his BA ~0.050 (.342 from .284) (arbitrary dates notwithstanding). I has really seemed he's been hitting well as of late, and the numbers seem to back that up.
Hi everybody!
NORM! meat!!
I'm going to have to watch Cain's perfect game after I watch tonight's game. Sounds like it was pretty damned overpowering. Well, also, it was a perfect game.
Ach, Wigginton. At least I'm watching the Phillies feed and can't hear Blyleven say "Wiggington."
Fun fact: I mentioned to a Minnesotan customer a couple of days ago that I'm a Twins fan, and the guy had been at a Twins fest or something where Blyleven was a little inebriated and apparently spent most of his time complaining (and not in a jocular way) about how much of a jackass Dick Bremer is. I don't know, man. They've certainly done a good job keeping that under wraps.
Chief Wigguns: looking good boys!
sonofa...that was no ground ball!
Small Sample Size Warning!
From everything I've heard, Bert's much more of a jackass (especially if he's drunk). He's one of those guys who thinks he's hilarious, yet pretty much an a-hole while intoxicated.
Dick, OTOH, doesn't seem like a jackass as much as a sanctimonious buffoon.
This is actually how I was leaning. I'm not surprised by any of that.
I've heard multiple stories of drunk Bert mooning large crowds of people just for fun.
I've met Dick a couple of times, and he's always been a nice guy. He may be a bit of a baffoon, but he's not really trying to make you feel small. Bert on the other hand...
Plouffe-da!!!!
This is ridiculous absolutely awesome.
Seventh home run in June, one in three consecutive games, and fifth in six games.
are you kidding me.
Fuckin' Plooffe!
All he does is hit homers!
Trevah!
Trevor Plouffe's hitting is the opposite of meat's house hunt.
Now he just needs to contribute more MS Paint art mocking _elm_n. Preferably in banner-form, like meat's spoonto work.
when I get home I have plans....
"this man is remarkable" ahaha
Don't make Plouffe! angry...you won't like him when he's angry
Plouffe has 5 HR in the last 6 games.
They need to unleash the Ploufferdoodle in Home Run Derby.
That would be awesome. And if he won, he'd be Tremaine Plouffe
2xladdie!
did he swing all the way through on that one?!
DPWY, did you see the note about the neighborhood we're moving to? I'm curious your thoughts.
Yes, Sheenie says it's a good area. I know it on a map, but have no personal knowledge of the area. Normally, I'll pass by there if I'm joining her family going to temple or on our way to Plum Street Snowball. It'll be ridiculously convenient to walk four blocks to St. Charles for the Mardi Gras parades.
Plus off street parking. Yeah, we're not feeling too bad about the place. The next time y'all are down we'll have you over for a beer or three.
I bought myself a house warming gift. It was 24 surlys.
I got 8 highlife pony bottles for a buck 99 today. It was my house rental warming gift to myself.
this image is awesome. as I scroll down, it appears to be literally moving
I haven't tried yet. I've got a bender or two to work through first.
In that case, it's too late to try the bitter brewer tonight, you'll not taste it much after the bender. Start with one of those tomorrow.
I've had a few of the Bitter Brewers*, and I'm not too fond of it. Could be that I'm inexperienced with the style and I need to grow accustomed to it. I wish I would have gone with Cynic instead.
*one or two left from my 4-pack.
Oasis.
That's worth roughly one monthly mortgage payment, no?
in buffalo that's at least two mortgage payments.
Try 8.5.
Congrats to both of youse on your new domiciles.
Shit, we're essentially held hostage in this rental market. We've seen falling down shacks going for 900$ a month because the street two blocks away is really "up and coming". We're paying way more than we budgeted for, but like I said it's a dream house that will accommodate two studio spaces for me, and doesn't have any neighbors sharing walls. We'll take it.
Jealous.
It's Deschutes Twilight for me here tonight.
Bitter isn't that bitter.
Wait, cliff lee and scott diamond are the same height? Holy shit, fellas!
I spookied that one.
Oh, Jimmer. You are such a gentleman masher.
Not a good start by Diamond.
mashin taters in the Twinned Cities
Sean, any idea the size the crater would be from a Thome shot? I think it's going to be less than 4 inches deep.
I'm thinking it obliterates itself. We're watching it in action with the people searching in vain for his home run ball.
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Nt0vvhYnzU
So, there's no crater, right? I knew Dick was wrong.
For old times sake...
Ji Jim mashery.
Oy, that had to hurt.
This series makes me wonder if Frank Thomas could unretire and also still clobber the Twins.
The answer to that question is yes.
Thomas career OPS vs. Twins: .969
Thomas career OPS: .974
He clobbered everyone.
Man, I'd never wish for Thome to be injured, but I kinda wish he'd had "the flu" today...
Naw, I've always loved seeing big jim swing the lumber. It crushes my soul to have him kill the Twins, but man, what a swing.
Co-sign. He's one of my all-time favorite Twins.
He is one of my all time favorite players. I always thought the FO should have gone out of their way to sign him, and when he eventually ended up here I was delighted.
Someone is going to fall from continuing the search for the ball.
I love how they never found the ball.
Is this like the time that one dude got the ball stuck int he Metrodome roof?
One of the high-K, high-homer A's. Ugh, which?
KINGMAN! It was Dave Kingman.
I doubt any fans crawled up there to look for that one, though.
Jim Thome = Dead Flowers.
He's gonna put roses on the Twins grave.
I'll be in my basement room
with a needle and a spoon
and Trevor Plouffe will take my pain away.
Ha -- wonder if my answer to the trivia question is what they were really looking for?
I'm guessing it's a bag of weed.
uh...that must of been a different question, heh heh
Are we booing that single?
Nah. I'm too busy booing Mike Miller.
I enjoy these mid-game chats between the radio booth and Perk. He's not all clichés like many players.
Another Cuzzi special!
Phillies feed rails on Phil Cuzzi for the call in the Yankees series, going as far as to say it may have cost the Twins the series. Wow, Philadelphia. Seriously, thanks for noticing (even though "cost the Twins the series" is a bit strong).
d@mn, had the question, but too slow
March 30, 2012 The Phillies traded Matt Rizzotti, once considered a fringe prospect, to the Minnesota Twins for cash considerations
W.T.P -- bummer. Nice ride, Mountie
What the puck?
Warning Track Power
Bert, Harold Baines isn't even close to touching Edgar Martinez.
If we could combine Plouffe's power with Ben's BA, we'd have a heck of a player... one I would call "TRevore."
how about Willingham?
Willingham is batting .286, pretty danged close to halfway between BR and TP (.342 and .234)
Plouffe career slugging: .424
Mauer career sluggin: .468
Revere career BA: .317
Mauer career BA: .322
It'll take some getting used to, but I'm going to start calling Joe "TRevore".
The Phillies have scored 21 runs this series and Thome has driven in nine of them.
Now all we need is Willingham and Morneau to reach base to bring Plouffe up as the tying run.
dick doesn't sound happy about there being 100 games left.
Not that it'll be particularly useful tonight, but I happened to come across a picture of Butera holding puppies. Does that one already exist on the site and/or get used?
remember when Jeff Gray was winning games?
yeah, that was awesome.
Poop.
Somehow, I can't get too upset when Jim Thome beats us. We'll just have to settle for 125-37!

'at's a lotta bender.
And a couple of these.
Indeed. Another one I really like.

But TRevore is only 25!
(By the way, tomorrow is Plouffe's birthday)
How about a spoiler alert there?
That was Dick's sanctimonious buffoon inning.
The Phillies have scored 21 runs this series and Thome has driven in nine of them.
