GO TWINS!
rain delay. pooop
Rain? Never heard of it.
White Sox-Rangers on ESPN, Cubs-Braves on WGN, with Dave 'Soup' Campbell filling in for Bob Brenley.
ETA on the game?
well, a Severe T-Storm warning is in effect until 7:30 (central).
shock, FSN is showing the 50 Greatest Twins program again
wish they'd send some of that down here
From June 28th, we've set five record highs.

Dick n Roy jumped on to say that the grounds crew has not budged yet, but the rain is light and their hunch is that they'll play a game tonight sometime.
The blue rectangle makes it official, right?
did you know: Brad Radke gave up more HRs than walked people twice. 2003 he gave up 32 HR and walked 28 and in 2005 gave up 33 and walked 23.
Liam
iswas working on that.I see Liam went 10/10.
Looking at the current stats, Nick Blackburn gave up 15 homers in 63 innings. oof.
Game's going to run late. Hopefully the Twins' offense can give the Detroit fans some fireworks so they can go home early. /wishful thinking
I can see from Gameday that we have ball!
(and a wide, outside strike zone, too)
yeah, let's put the leadoff on.
should have been a double play
siiiiigh
uno!
2 runs against Verlander might be too much to ask.
Chris Parmelee hasnt played much since being recalled, so he gets a start against Verlander!
There's a reason I'm paying attention to the Fourth specials on TV over the game.
It looks like the Tigers' defense showed up today.
I think there is a wind channel blowing out towards RF.
thank you for turning that DP
SEND HIM!!!
I now know how other fans felt when Delmon was batting. Relief mingled with amusement.
holy ...oh man
that was a BOMB
Parmelee with two home runs in consecutive (for him) games.
Uh oh. I'm guessing that line drive off Duensing broke something.
I got back from fireworks just in time to see Dunce get nailed.
🙁 Duensing
We just can't avoid dipping into this bullpen, can we?
I just saw the Parmelee HR. I don't think Verlander will get angry at Bosch for escorting it to the wall.
Tigers fans have given Rayburn boobirds twice tonight
Provus and Atteberry talked about that last night. He's having a Valencia-esque season
I listened to most of game 1 of Saturday's double header and they were the announcing duo. I was very impressed.
Atteberry got a little enamored with the fact that it was the first Twins DH sweep in X years, but he and Provus aren't a bad pair.
I have fallen in love with the Atteberry/Provus duo. Provus fixes all of Atteberry's problems.
I starting to really like Provus. Atteberry seems pretty average, but given that we normally get Dazzle, "average" sounds a lot better.
I like Atteberry's enthusiasm and I think Provus adds a more "professional" voice to the mix. Plus they don't really seem roped in to the company line.
I'm a little unhappy that I haven't gotten to listen to more of the Dazzle-free radio broadcasts from the last week. I like Atteberry and Provus has been a fine free-agent pickup.
Detroit color guy continuing the love for Cabrera's D today. He's only made one error recently!
I hate seeing him get dongers.
that was a halfway decent pitch, and Cabrera slugged it about 500 feet
Whoa.
Did they show the guy singing on the Twins feed, too?
nope
A serviceman sang "God Bless America" and had perhaps the most embarrassing voice crack in the end that I've ever heard.
Oh, we heard the dude singing. I wasn't paying attention though.
oh..maybe they did. I turned the channel after the last out.
My impulsive muting of patriotic songs at sports events made me miss out.
I usually do that too, but my I was putting my daughters to bed and walked in near the end.
i heard it. they cut to commercial pretty quick after that. $5 that makes sportscenter.
Carroll is not having his best night out in the field
Tigers color says the Tigers would like to see more of Jackson stealing third. "Really, stealing third should be easier than stealing second."
Also, f*^k Cabrera.
..Why should it be easier? The runner can't see the fielder as easily and the catcher doesn't have to throw as far.
He had some sub-half-baked explanation. You can get a better lead, the pitcher isn't used to it, some such nonsense.
You can get a bigger lead, plus the pitchers seem more likely to forget about you. The Twins stole third several times against the Royals. Some without a throw. Plus, if the ball is thrown away there's less chance of backup and you score a run if the left fielder isn't right there backing up.
the only way I can see it being easier is if there is a right handed batter in the box, then the catcher kind of has to throw around him.
Stop letting him hit. Start hitting him.
The Twins had about a 5% chance of winning this game before it started because Verlander was starting. Let the Tiggers have their fun tonight, then we score 23 run tomorrow
oh man, that was mean.
about 4 hard fastballs, then a slow curve right over the middle of the plate.
Chuck James just tweeted that he's been released. Not sure who he was with.
He was with the Mets. He had an injury early this season, and I don't think he's yet returned to play.
I'm not real sure why I stayed with this one. Well, whatever.
Nevermind.
Can't win them all, even at Comerica. If you're going to be dominated by Verlander and give up two bombs to Cabrera, might as well do it all in the same game. I'm sure we'll here about the Twins' overtaxed bullpen even though only two relievers actually pitched.
If you're going to be dominated by Verlander and give up two bombs to Cabrera, might as well do it all in the same game.
This was my exact thought as it was winding down.
No disgrace losing to Verlander. We'll just have to settle for 116-46!
