Batting stars: Javier Pimentel was 2-for-4 with two doubles. Jose Ramirez was 2-for-3. Kelvin Ortiz was 2-for-4.
Pitching star: Kyle Gibson made his 2012 debut, starting and pitching one inning. He gave up no hits and one walk.
Opposition stars: Nick Moore was 3-for-4 with a walk. Jeremias Pineda was 3-for-5 with a double. Oscar Melendez struck out four in three shutout innings of relief.
Key inning: The seventh. In a 5-5 tie, two singles and a stolen base put runners on second and third for the Red Sox with one out. Keaton Briscoe hit a two-run single to give the Red Sox the lead.
Other: Rene Tosoni played for the Red Sox on a rehab assignment, going 0-for-3 with a walk.

Batting stars: Adonis Pacheco and Joel Polanco were each 2-for-4.
Pitching stars: Starter Javier Vargas gave up no hits in four innings, walking two and striking out four. Edgar Martinez allowed a hit and a walk in two shutout innings, striking out three.
Opposition stars: Jeffry Santos was 2-for-5.
Key inning: The third. It was a scoreless tie. Gabriel A. Ynfante led off the inning with a single and scored on a triple by Engelb Vielma. With two out, Polanco singled to drive in a second run and Luis Gonzalez hit a single and error to score Polanco. Carlos Martinez then doubled in Gonzalez with the fourth and final run of the inning.
