Pitching star: Nick Blackburn gave up three runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk in seven innings.
Opposition stars: Audy Ciriaco was 3-for-4 with a double. Collin Balester struck out three in three shutout innings, allowing one hit.
Key inning: The sixth. The Red Wings trailed 3-2. Sean Burroughs led off the inning with a walk. He scored on a double by Tsuyoshi Nishioka, who in turn scored on a Hollimon single to put Rochester ahead 4-3.
TRENTON 6, NEW BRITAIN 5 IN NEW BRITAIN
Batting stars: Chris Herrmann was 3-for-5. Chris Colabello was 2-for-4 with two doubles. Nathan Hanson was 2-for-4 with a double.
Pitching star: David Bromberg struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up two hits and a walk.
Opposition stars: Neil Medchill was 3-for-4 with a double. J. R. Murphy was 2-for-4 with a triple and a home run. Shaeffer Hall allowed two runs on nine hits in six innings.
Key inning: The ninth. With the score tied at five, Murphy led off with a home run to give the Thunder what turned out to be the winning run.

Key inning: The ninth. With the score tied at four, Cartwright hit a one-out triple and scored on a sacrifice fly to win the game.
LAKE COUNTY 5, BELOIT 2 IN LAKE COUNTY

Pitching star: Tim Atherton worked 1.2 scoreless innings, striking out two and walking one.
Opposition stars: Jordan Smith was 3-for-4. Zach MacPhee was 2-for-3. Joseph Colon allowed one run on six hits and a walk in seven innings.
Key inning: The seventh. In a 1-1 tie, the Captains tallied four times. A hit batsman, a walk, a double, and two singles produced the runs. Smith’s two-run single was the key hit of the inning.

Pitching stars: Taylor Rogers struck out seven in six innings, giving up only two hits and one walk. J. T. Chargois struck out three and walked two in two hitless innings.

Key inning: The eighth. The Twins led 1-0. A walk, a single, and an error scored one run. Kepler then hit a two-run triple to provide the final margin of victory.

Pitching star: Trent Higginbotham struck out three in two shutout innings, giving up one hit. Jose Berrios struck out three of the four batters he faced, with the other reaching base on an error.
Key inning: The first. The Twins scored three before the Red Sox came to bat. Tosoni drove in one with a double, Javier Pimentel drove in one with a single, and the third scored on a bases-loaded walk.
