Hey Vargas, button your shirt. You look like a bum.
Wow, Bud is something else.
Dudeno trying to get Bud out of the booth ASAP.
a hit!
I hope Minnesota TownBall baseball is recognized somehow at the All Star Game.
The Twins will have at least one player on the All-Star team, so that's covered.
So when the camera pans over the Twins dugout, keep your eyes open for a young guy with short hair and a big round head and glasses. That's my friend Curtis.
Hey y'allzes. I see everybody's favorite SSS is on the mound tonight.
I bet if I were alive when Rod Carew ran around the bases for the Twins, he would have been my favorite player. He retired from baseball before I knew what a baseball was.
Carew retired the offseason before I was born.
He DEFINITELY was my favorite, but for his hitting, not his baserunning. I don't really remember Martin as manager; I do remember Bill Rigney, though.
Well, if Plouffe ain't gonna hit homeruns, I'm okay with him taking walks.
I'm really liking Carroll.
We finally get a hit with a RISP and of course he doesn't score.
Well, if Revere had done his job and bunted the runners ahead...
excellent
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
Sure, I tune in just in time for Doughmitt to strike out.
Sir Rodney in the radio booth. Sweet.
Deduwow
He's a pretty darn good pitcher when he can find the strike zone.
that last curveball he threw was a beauty
Well, crap. 1-2-3 inning, and they are shuffling Rod out?
Just a wisp of Smoak there.
Plouffed!
Plouffe!!! There it is!
TWINS BASEBALL!!!
holy crap.... PLOOOOOUFFFFE!
Wow, I'm really behind on my feed.
Woohoo, I showed up just in time to see the Plouffe-da!
Jiminy. Don't the folks in Minnesota know better than to grab a live ball?
seriously.
It's rather kind of the Twins to schedule their good game on my off night.
Dazz: "Let's see how Gardy plays it. Let Revere go ahead and swing the bat?"
Me: It's 4-0 and you have a guy on second with no outs against a guy you are shelling. WTF do you think you should do with a guy hitting .308???
Charge the mound?
If anyone's gonna get to the mound before the catcher can get him, it'd be Revere.
I should go back and stand in line for Surly...this whole thing happened while waiting for beer.
Depends. What beer did you get before?
Surly. Before was Mich Golden (cousin bought).
I see the have good Deduno pitching tonight.
Alright gents, if I wake up and find out we've lost this one, there's going to be hell toupee!
Are you going to wear a really bad toupee?
I'm guessing he was going for the old Simpsons reference.
That's too long of a list for me.
wow
Darren Wolfson @DarrenWolfson
From Rob Antony: L. Oliveros did undergo Tommy John. They went in for a cleanup & discovered they had to. Was always a possibility. #mntwins
Always a possibility. Duh, it's the Twins.
Going forward, anytime the Twins acquire a pitcher they should preemptively make him have TJ surgery just to get it out of the way.
so Plouffe hit a HR tonight, does that mean Willingham is going to jack one?
Yes.
that would be correct.
nailed it.
Willing.
BOOM, BABY!
good gravy, that ball went far
432 feet, Provus says.
"I'm not arguing balls and strikes. I'm arguing that you suck."
Hey Doumit, button your shirt. You look like a bum.
That characature was...something.
charcuterie?
Sudden Sam McDuno.
"Capps" is pitching for Seattle??? Be still, my heart!
Only the 2nd hit and 18 straight outs...impressive
Cy Deduno. I never doubted the young man.
for the season, Deduno now has 39 strikeouts and 37 walks. He entered the game at a 0.81 k/bb ratio
Pussy riot, there.
+3 sentences
Ya ne ponimayo.
BOOOOO!
BOOOOO!
BOOOOO!
A triple to the big pussy future Red Sox! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
pussy triples hitter...
a little hock for a run
So, Deduno's secret to success is to pitch with run support. Verrrrry clever...
apparently he knows how to win.
Capps hitting 100? He hasn't been there since 6th grade!
Well, this Mariners lineup is still pretty bad. (Although all the stuff sean said in response to me is true, too.) But zero walks and nine strikeouts is a lot more of something to grasp onto than when those numbers trend the opposite way.
Chris Parmelee has nothing to learn in the Majors. Send him straight to Cooperstown.
So, how many games did Diamond wait to start his six-game suspension? Long enough to miss two turns?
nope, he dropped his appeal today so he could basically pitch yesterday. one start missed.
he pitched yesterday? There was a game yesterday?
The mind does amazing things.
9 pineapples, boyos.
Plouffe!
Good to have his bat back in the lineup.
naturally plouffe is on the bench for me today...
Hahahaha they just showed my friend shaking Deduno's hand. This has been a hilarious night. I can't wait to talk to him about this.
that was only the 4th time all year a Twins pitcher recorded 9 k's. Liriano had the other three games (15,10,9)
So, every Twins starter whose name ends with an 'o' and who has not succumbed to Alyssa Milano.
Nick rushes to the county courthouse to fast-track a name change to "Blackburno"...
Revere sux.
wow -- generous zone for Joe here
SEND HIM!!TO THE SHOWERS, JUSTIN!!!
Good lord, this is a laugher.
You know what? I don't think I really missed Bert all that much.
I miss when he pitched. This rotation could've used him
I really liked Ron Coomer. Slightly goofy, but broke down swings and defense.
Parmelee shows mastery of the Uno. Why is he playing RF?
I like the Twins chances tonight.
Deduno's game score: 82
Not bad
Alrighty...who's paying for me to attend every game for the rest of the year?
I already tried that back at the end of May. You may have better luck since there are fewer games.
I have an "aerial" picture of Target Field on my phone from your game back in May...taken from near the top of the IDS. I keep thinking I should download it but I can never find my microSD cartridge. I'll e-mail and post for you asap.
This is the one...day game, phone says 'May 30, 2012'. I took it thinking you'd be there and it would make a for a cool talker, then I forgot about it. Is that the right game?
Yeah, that's the one. Very cool, thanks.
Samuel Deduno moves into Cy Young contention. The Twins are unbeaten since Chris Parmelee came up from Rochester. The Twins obviously followed Bert's "keys to the game" last night: 1) Get the offense going; 2) Pitchers put some zeros on the board. If only Bert had thought of that sooner, we'd be in first place! As it is, we're still on track for 86-76!
I hope Deduno continues to get a lot of groundballs, 'cause I don't want to see Willingham and Parmelee showing off their range.
Fan fact: Samuel Deduno will be the 8th Twins pitcher to start 10 games this season.
can you name the other 7?
Hmm... from most confident to least
6 correct
I'm too lazy to do them all, so I'll go with the ones DPWY got right and add my guess-
nope.
Well, I'll do the full list this time-
correct
Woohoo! I win at something!
I blinked. Have the Twins hit yet?
Hey Vargas, button your shirt. You look like a bum.
