Normally, when I come to ND it is for eight days straight. This trip, and the next, are for three days, meaning that I will be going home tonight. While there is certainly some advantage to the three day trip (more time at home with family), in actuality, the three day trip is very hard on me. The working a full day and driving 250 miles is a long day and it takes me a little while to recover from that. With the three day trip, I have no time to recover. Add in a trip to Bismarck in between the two travel days and, well, I'm really worn out. I've stayed pretty true to the diet these last couple of days, but the title of this column isn't WGOM Dieting, its WGOM Fitness. I look forward to a couple of days at home, going to the gym and not driving 275 miles a day. Also, hate to say it, but an eight day trip wouldn't be the worst thing in the world right now.
I weighed on my parents' scale at it said 267.0 this morning. But, I know that it weighs a little heavy, so I don't really put much stock in it (I "lost" 3.5 pounds) the last time I weighed at home the day after I weighed in SBGville. The better news is that I have hitched the belt in two notches from where I was.
Day: 37
Weight: 267.0
Pounds lost: 17.5
I seem to have levelled off around 192/193. I'm not going to worry about the weight because, like you said, it's about fitness and health. I'm more concerned about proper nutrition for my medical condition than I am about losing weight, that's just been the gravy that comes with changing what I eat. But I am going to need to buy some new pants because I've lost an inch or two around the waist.
Yesterday I worked on dips, making sure I have good positions at the top and bottom, and I worked some negatives through the full range of motion. Then I did a little bit of light prowler pushing. I finished with a few pull-ups, but my shoulders were pretty spent from the dips.
I skipped today's trip to the gym. I stocked ice cream for 4 hours this morning and I'm going in for the truck in about an hour. In between I slept for 3 hours.
Track intervals at St. Joseph's College tonite.
4-6 800M run at 10K pace, with rest periods between. NBB clocking between 3:41 best and 3:51 worst. NBBW along also (she was faster).
Great temps for running.
