Confession:
Last year I watched over 100 Twins games. This year? Maybe 10. I still check the box scores every night. Am I a fair weather fan? Maybe. I guess I don't care. But I'm not going to sink a bunch of time into something that isn't bringing me a heck of a lot of joy.
Go Twins.
There's a lot more to watch this year than last, it seems to me. The breakouts of Diamond, Plouffe and Revere. Perkins and Burton in the 'pen. The Hammer. The return to awesomeness of Mauer and the return to health of Morneau and Span. And the emergence of Cole De Vries, who unfortunately is out for the rest of the season with a cracked rib. That really sucks for an undrafted player earning a shot.
That came out a bit more dramatic than I intended it. Still, more to watch or not, two straight years of losing has taken a toll on me.
On all of us.
The mystical magic of Samuel "Deduno" Duderino.
DeVries out for the year? aw man.
The Twins medical staff was proactive for once!
I don't think the sound effects were necessary in that graphic of the Royals' ages.
The 2 runs scored just as I was opening Gameday, then the radio fellas were immediately talking about Doumit having a hurting oblique. Now news of Devries being hurt when I open the gamelog. I might be finding something else to do soon if my luck don't change here.
The trainer was reportedly talking to Butera after the half inning. Gardy's nightmare of having only three catchers may come true!
And I hear Eduardo Escobar is the backup to the backup catcher's backup (did I get that right?). I thought Willingham was supposed to be the emergency catcher? I was kinda looking forward to that.
Willingham has had a bad hamstring lately
Ooh, forgot that. Yeah, he doesn't need to be catching with a sore hammie.
The Hammy approves of this message.
I believe the Twins have roster spots (Free Slama!). So they'll only be short on catching for one day.
Actually, do you have to be on the roster before the game? It could be Dammann time!
YAHTZEE!
Consuela!
Didn't realize that the Twins outfield today consists of Mastroianni, Span, and Revere. Flyball-heavy pitcher on the mound and three best outfielders playing, this should go well (ignoring the first inning).
Hendriks' mug shot looks like a caricature.
overheard a lady on the crowd mic: 'come on Morneau! hit one for the kids!'
that looked like a very generous inside strike
Did they say that Liriano is scheduled for tomorrow night's game? (Might get Sale instead as Tonight's hyped Verlander-Sale tilt was postponed.)
I thought Liriano was just sent to the bullpen.
he was, the but the guy who was scheudled to start tomorrow was used in the pen yesterday, so Liriano got the nod today. but with tonight's rainout, who knows who the Sox will start
Hey, Plouffe can dive?
Just noticed that Gameday classic still has the Trees in the TF Batter's Eye.
Sidenote- I see the Packers are pissing off Aaron Rodgers fantasy owners everywhere by scoring a touchdown on a fake punt/pass to a third-string tight end.
I am here. Let the offensive explosion commence.
are you predicting a Plouffe home run?
I predict that I will not have paid much attention to this game.
you called it!
jeebus, the guys in the booth are bored with the game. Talking about "fall colors" in shirts.
I'm guessing Dick endorsed beige.
C'mon Parmelee.
I was hoping for a homerun, but a hit is better than nothing!
Ah, a bases-loaded walk. Nice.
PLOUFFE-DA!
I just tuned in after Louis. Good welcome.
this was cool!
Well done, Nostradamus Watts!
I just came back to this game after thinking it was over. Yeehaw!
wait, what?
crap. I went to the kitchen in between innings and missed the Plouffeda!
I'm glad I live in a house where the kitchen provides an excellent view of the living room television.
Just got back from our celebration meal; still got some game left!
HE GAWN!~!!
A little quick on the trigger, blue. But fun nonetheless!
although, wtf was the ump doing? pretty sad ejection, unless Butler called him a %@^&@^@
He was arguing that the ump sucks.
I assume the strikeout is charged to Butler because he had 2 of the 3 strikes?
Striking out on one pitch. Well how about that?
I thought Delmon did that a lot.

No Nasty Factor for intentional balls?
Nice going, Laddie!
Lassie!
Go home (plate).
I'll be pissed if Span bunts here.
Prepare to be pissed.
yay for the hit, :/ for the injury
He might've just cramped up.
since when is Francoeur a backup catcher? that's what (??) just said -- one of three catchers for the Royales.
with the expanded rosters, how do you not have 2 extra OFers laying around?
eff. Gardy really calling for the bunt here?
Smell ball
Span said in the interview that Gardy told him to swing away, thank goodness.
w00t! DSPAN!!!
SPANNNNNNNNN!!!!!!
And that's why you don't bunt.
The way God intended for this game to end!
Spannoeffingbuntastic!
steel-cut oats make darned good tabbouleh, btw.
And with that the Twins are still tied for 4th place. Watch out KC!
finally, win #60
Four more wins and it's officially a rebound year.
I'm starting to feel safe that the Twins will win more games than the Wolves this year. Not that I was ever worried.
I'm not until the Twins top 72 wins.
Don't forget the Wolves' 16 post season wins...
Spanola!!11010one11!
Consuela countdown just bigs now.
Whadya know? Guess the Twins proved me wrong today.
Not much to say about this one. The Twins were in control all the way. We're still on track for 78-84.
