I logged 750 miles in the car (driving every inch of it) the last two days (and worked two full eight hour days). I stuck to the diet as best I could. I'm back home in my basement, with zero commute this morning and I'm in sweatpants. So, that's pretty cool. What else is cool is getting to the home scale. The persistence has paid off. I will be going to the gym tonight, in keeping with my regular at home routine. I also have to mow the lawn tonight as well. For right now, I'm getting back to work and doing that earning a living thing.

Your lawn's still growing?
We basically laid off the lawn boy at the end of August.
Our grass hasn't grown since June. We have occasionally had to mow weeds.
apropos of this comment, the feature book for next month's First Monday will be about the Dust Bowl.
We water.
Water seems only to make the weeds grow. Our grass checked out and left for Florida while we were out of town for a weekend. "See you in April!" was the note they left under the door.
Our neighbors moved out in July and I agreed to mow their lawn while the house was on the market. I've had to do it once.
Isaac has kick-started our lawn where the sprinklers left off. It's pretty lush right now
I planted some grass on Labor day weekend. Verde, people. Verde.
watering is a necessity here in NorCal. We get about 20 inches of rain per year, basically all in the December-March period. I have dreams of eliminating all of my grass someday, replacing it with garden.
We need a garden blog feature!
Same here. I'm very grateful for automatic sprinklers. Except when they break, which is more often than you would think. They're not hard to fix, but it's a pain to dig up.
I use my checkbook tool for that.
We have sprinklers on timers for the front, but have to actually turn them on manually in the back. #firstworldproblems
Monday was an overhead press day: 5x20(kg), 5x24, 5x27, 5x31, 6x35, supersetted with 5 sets of 8 ring row. Then a bit of conditioning and working on controlling the top part of a single-leg squat.
I took Tuesday off, then yesterday I did some front squats: 5x20(kg), 5x30, 5x40, 5x50, 5x54. That's a tough movement for me, for sure. Then about 15 minutes of conditioning with pull-ups, push-ups, and unweighted squats.
I am really bad at jumping rope, so I am going to start working on that a bit. My first goal is to work up to 140 unbroken jumps. Starting on that journey, I did 10 sets of 10 jumps last night, focusing on jumping as low as possible and keeping good form.
Looking forward to deadlifts tonight.
Track run tonight at St. Joseph's College:
Tonight's workout: 4-8 600 meters at 5K pace with 200 meter walk/jog between sets.
I did 6 as am still a little sore from Sunday's shoulder incident (which was no problem tonite), and have 12 mile run on Saturday.
Boy, it's getting darker earlier.
