Other Javelinas stars:  Rymer Liriano (San Diego) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double.  Donald Lutz (Cincinnati) was 2-for-4 with a double.  Starter James Paxton (Seattle) struck out five in three shutout innings.

Opposition stars:  Justin Marks (Kansas City) worked three hitless innings, walking two.

Key inning:  The fourth.  In a scoreless tie, Liriano led off with a double and scored on a single by Lutz.  With two out, Lutz had advanced to second and scored on a Zach Collier (Philadelphia) single.

PHOENIX 4, SCOTTSDALE 3 IN PHOENIX

Grant Green (Oakland) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, driving in two, to lead Phoenix.  Chris Gloor (San Francisco) worked four shutout innings for Scottsdale.

SALT RIVER 6, MESA 5 IN SALT RIVER

Salt River scored two in the bottom of the eighth to overcome a 5-4 deficit.  Kent Matthes (Colorado) doubled and homered, driving in two, to lead Salt River.  Javier Baez (Cubs) doubled and homered, driving in three, for Mesa.
