Cards hosting Giants right now
Tigers looking for the sweep tonight
my predictions: Kyle Lohse pitches 7 innings
Delmon Young goes 3-5 with 2 HR, while seeing 8 pitches all game

weather's going to get progressively cruddier here in StL as the day goes on, so hopefully the game doesn't drag on badly.
Yeah looks like there could be a delay with this one. Hopefully it will cut into primetime and ruin FOX's schedule.
I don't think there'll be a delay; weather's supposed to just get progressively worse. Wind is gusting pretty good at times.
that slo mo shot of Freese hitting in the rain was pretty awesome
Rain Delay Theater is the Albuquerque Isotopes episode of The Simpsons.
just that that episode yesterday
the 5pm Simpsons is showing baseball theme episodes this week. today, it was the one where Mark McGwire was the guest voice
'Do you want to know the horrible truth or see me hit dingers?'
Hit dingers!
Response from my Yankees fan co-worker when I asked what happened this weekend: "Its football season."
my former roommate is a Yankees fan. he has been strangely silent on the Book of Face since the weekend.
Now both games in rain delay.
TBS is show Seinfeld dueing the rain delay, and its the one where Stienbrenner goes nuts for a calzone
Does anyone have a expected length of delay for the NL game?
IS THAT BRITTANY SPEARS ON MY TV?
I saw on the ESPN bottom line, officials expect the weather to clear around 8pm central
That's now!
Seriously, what is Twitter for if not giving me minute-by-minute updates of how long to baseball? The internet has failed me.
I'm watching commercials and Brittany Spears and there's not even any baseball to make it worthwhile.
ALCS game has Scherzer starting for the Tigers. I asked for a no-hitter from him. I want it. Probably my favorite Tiger just because he has different colored eyes and his mugshot looks really friendly:
If he worked in my office, I'd want to be his friend. Also, he's from St. Louis. If the Tigers face the Cards in the World Series, I figure ESPN will hammer that fact into our ear and eyeholes. "Also, Max Scherzer is from St. Louis and that's where the World Series is opening, and he's playing against his hometown team, the Cardinals. In a few minutes, we'll have an interview with five kids how played high school baseball against Scherzer to talk about how they knew then he was destined to greatness. But first, here's Jerome Bettis, who's from Detroit, and who played in a Superbowl which was also in Detroit to talk about the pressures of coming home to play for a championship..."
BRITTANY HAS GREEN HAIRS!
And holy moly does she have tons of that vocal shred someone posted a link about months ago.
Maybe they speak with his Mizzou college teammate, Kyle Gibson
"Kyle, What was it like playing with Baseball Bettis?"
Tigers Yanks ppd
They don't want me to not watch Scherzer tonight.
I can't wait to let the guy I work with know that the Yankees survived another day.
Scherzer's gonna gut them tomorrow.
I know Allan said when the Phils/Rays WS game was suspended and resumed despite it being longer than 5 inning and one team having the lead, that he would never let an elimination game in the playoffs be called short for rain. Will he apply this to a non-elimination game? With the Cards play tonight?
This is why the second WC team is a horrible idea. That team could win some games and play in rainy cities.
ESPN says the Cards game will resume at 9:05 central
9:04 now and very close to resuming.
oh man, I want work to purchase of those batter box painters. it takes me something like 5 minutes with the contraption we have.
BASEBALL back on!
Yay! I'd gotten very distracted after turning off the TV due to too much factoring of random variables. Then I thought "What if Allan makes them get back on the field"?
Lots of water there on RF warning track.
Need some super sized hot hogs.
Link.
Yadi showing off like the catcher version of Jeter.
Budweiser: "Hey baseball fans, we care so little about you, here's a Football commercial! Go NFL! Whoooo!!!!"
Jose Mijares had a confused look on his face as the manager was coming out for a pitching change
"Almost a Quasi- Pitchout"
So it was a pitchout?
This Cards pitcher's throwing sauce tonight!
Link.
His pants are so long, that would drive me nuts, stepping on the hems running to make the out at first.
Kyle Lohse is the greatest Cardinal ever!
Hey, wait, Punto was a Cardinal once, you know
But he moved on...
"ever" sort of implies that you don't care about that, though
OK, yeah, Lohse is greater than even Punto
And even the Cardinal greats of the past, like Tony Pena and Curt Ford.
does that mean he'll get to throw out a first pitch in 25 years?
You think he'll keep playing that long? Modern medicine keeps advancing, but still it seems unlikely. If he does last that long, it'll probably be as a reliever anyways.
I was thinking more on the lines of "ceremonial" first pitch, a la Danny Cox the other day, but sure. It could happen.
