PEORIA 8, PHOENIX 0 IN PHOENIX

TwinsEvan Bigley was 2-for-5 and scored once.  Nate Roberts was 1-for-2 with a double (raising his average to .467) and two walks, scoring once and driving in two.  Logan Darnell started and allowed only one hit and no walks in four innings while striking out five.  Michael Tonkin gave up only one hit in 2.2 scoreless innings.

Game summary:  A three-run fifth put Peoria ahead 5-0 and a three-run eighth put the game away.

Peoria:  Billy Hamilton (Cincinnati) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring twice and driving in two.  Didi Gregorius (Cincinnati) was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk and scored twice.

Phoenix:  Michael Brady (Miami) gave up one hit in 1.2 scoreless innings.

MESA 4, SCOTTSDALE 3 IN SCOTTSDALE

Game summary:  Mesa led 4-0 after four.  Scottsdale cut it to 4-3 after six.

Mesa:  Luke Putkonen (Detroit) struck out four in four shutout innings, allowing three hits and a walk.  Matt Szczur (Cubs) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once and driving in two.

Scottsdale:  Ricky Oropesa (San Francisco) was 3-for-4 with a home run and a walk.  Adalberto Santos (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-3 with two walks.

SALT RIVER 8, SURPRISE 3 IN SURPRISE

Game summary:  Salt River scored three in the third to take a 4-3 lead, then scored two in the fifth and two in the sixth to take control.

Salt River:  Matthew Skole (Washington) was 2-for-4 with a home run and drove in four.  Deck McGuire (Toronto) worked 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and two walks.

Surprise:  Dustin Lawley (Mets) was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Ben Rowen (Texas) struck out two in two shutout innings.
