PEORIA 8, PHOENIX 1 IN PEORIA

TwinsNate Roberts was 2-for-4 with a home run and a walk, driving in three.  Dan Rohlfing was 0-for-4.  Logan Darnell started and pitched four innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks.  Caleb Theilbar pitched a scoreless inning, allowing no hits but walking two and striking out two.

Game summary:  Phoenix scored three in the second to take the lead and three in the fifth to break the game open.

Phoenix:  Richie Shaffer (Tampa Bay) was 1-for-3 with a walk.

Peoria:  Mike Zunino (Seattle) was 3-for-5, scoring twice and driving in one.  Didi Gregorius (Cincinnati) was 2-for-4 with a home run and a walk, scoring twice.

Game summary:  Scottsdale scored seven in the first.  Salt River never got closer than five runs.

Scottsdale:  Slade Heathcott (Yankees) was 4-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs.  Travis Witherspoon (Angels) was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in four.

Salt River:  Chris Owings (Arizona) was 3-for-5 with two doubles, scoring once and driving in one.  Sean Ochinko (Toronto) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once.

SURPRISE 10, MESA 8 IN MESA

Game summary:  Surprise scored three in the sixth to take a 9-8 lead, then got an insurance run in the ninth.  Cesar Puello (Mets) hit a two-run double to give Surprise the lead.

Surprise:  Michael Almanzar (Boston) was 2-for-4 with two doubles, scoring twice and driving in two.  Puello was 2-for-2 with a walk, scoring three times.

Mesa:  Nick Castellanos (Detroit) was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk, driving in two.  Rubi Silva (Cubs) was 2-for-3 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one.
