ARAGUA 15, LA GUAIRA 10 IN ARAGUA

TwinsOswaldo Arcia (Aragua) was 2-for-5 with a home run and a walk, scoring twice and driving in five.  Dakota Watts (Aragua) allowed one run on three hits and a walk in 1.2 innings while striking out two.

Game summary:  Aragua overcame deficits of 1-0, 6-1, and 7-6, taking the lead with a four-run sixth.

La Guaira:  Alex Castellanos (Dodgers) was 2-for-3 with a home run and two walks, scoring twice.  Cesar Suarez was 2-for-5 with a home run, driving in three.

Aragua:  Alex Romero was 3-for-4 with two triples and two walks, scoring four times and driving in three.  Ronny Cedeno was 2-for-4 with two walks and scored four times.

MARGARITA 9, LARA 8 IN MARGARITA

TwinsSean Burroughs (Margarita) was 1-for-3 and scored once.

Game summary:  A three-run triple by Frank Diaz in the eighth gave Margarita the victory.  Lara lost leads of 6-2 and 8-5.

Lara:  Richard Castillo (St. Louis) gave up two hits and a walk in three shutout innings.  Luis Valbuena (Cubs) was 2-for-5, scoring twice and driving in one.

Margarita:  Diaz was 3-for-5 and also doubled, collecting five RBIs.  Edgar Duran (Philadelphia) was 2-for-2 with two walks, scoring twice.

MAGALLANES 3, ANZOATEGUI 2 IN MAGALLANES (11 INNINGS)

TwinsEduardo Escobar (Anzoategui) was 0-for-3 with a walk and scored once.  Bruce Pugh (Anzoategui) worked 1.1 scoreless innings, allowing only a walk and striking out one.  Deolis Guerra (Magallanes) gave up two hits in 1.1 scoreless innings, striking out one.

Game summary:  A walk, a stolen base, and an error scored the winning run with two out in the eleventh.

Anzoategui:  Luis Nunez was 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and an RBI.  Jose Gil was 2-for-4.

Magallanes:  Fernando Nieve struck out three in three shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks.  Chris Nowak walked and hit a two-run homer.

CARACAS 7, ZULIA 6 IN ZULIA

Game summary:  Caracas scored five in the seventh to overcome a 5-0 Zulia lead, then scored two in the eighth to overcome a 6-5 Zulia lead.  Henry Wrigley hit a two-run single in the eighth to put Caracas in front.

Caracas:  Wrigley was 4-for-4 with a double and three RBIs.  Marwin Gonzalez (Houston) was 3-for-4 with three doubles and a walk, scoring once and driving in one.

Zulia:  Wilfredo Boscan (Texas) pitched 5.1 shutout innings, allowing five hits and two walks.  Evan Gattis (Atlanta) was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer.
