MANATI 5, CAROLINA 4 IN CAROLINA

Game summary:  Manati scored four in the ninth to overcome a 3-1 deficit.  Carolina scored once in the ninth but did not get the tying run past first base.

Manati:  Orlando Alfonso struck out five in three shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk.  Adam Godwin was 1-for-3 with two walks and scored once.

Carolina:  Hector Santiago (White Sox) struck out four in five innings, allowing three hits and three walks.  Kyle Blanks (San Diego) was 3-for-4 with three doubles and scored once.

CAGUAS 10, MAYAGUEZ 1 IN MAYAGUEZ

TwinsKennys Vargas (Mayaguez) was 0-for-4.  Daniel Ortiz (Mayaguez) was 0-for-3.

Game summary:  Leading 2-1, Caguas scored seven in the seventh to put the game away.

Caguas:  Mark Cohoon (Mets) struck out nine in five innings, giving up one run on four hits and a walk.  Luis Mateo (St. Louis) was 4-for-5 with a run and an RBI.

Mayaguez:  Jeremy Kehrt (Boston) pitched five innings, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks.  Irving Falu (Kansas City) was 1-for-2 with a double and a walk, scoring once.

SANTURCE 5, PONCE 4 IN SANTURCE

Game summary:  Down 4-1 after six and a half, Santurce scored two in the seventh and two in the eighth.  Luis Rivera doubled in the go-ahead run.

Ponce:  Ryan Tatusko (Washington) gave up an unearned run on five hits and three walks in five innings, striking out four.  Christian Colon (Kansas City) was 2-for-5 with a double and scored once.

Santurce:  Fehlandt Lentini was 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run homer.  Rivera was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a walk and scored once.
