Game summary:  Este scored three in the first.  Escogido scored two in the fifth.  Escogido only got one more runner past first, putting the tying run on third with two out in the ninth.

Este:  Eduardo Nunez (Yankees) was 3-for-4 with two RBIs.  Kevin Slowey gave up two runs on three hits and no walks in five innings.

Escogido:  Starling Marte (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-3 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one. Mauro Gomez (Boston) was 2-for-4 with a double and scored once.

ORIENTE 1, CIBAO 0 IN ORIENTE

TwinsMiguel Sano (Oriente) was used as a pinch-hitter and walked.

Game summary:  Luis Jimenez (Angels) homered leading off the eighth for the game’s only run.

Cibao:  Jose A. Ramirez (Yankees) struck out seven in four shutout innings, giving up one hit and no walks.

Oriente:  Manauris Baez worked seven innings, allowing two hits and one walk.

AGUILAS 8, LICEY 7 IN AGUILAS

Game summary:  Licey led 5-2 after three and 7-4 after five.  In the sixth, Elian Herrera (Dodgers) hit a two-run double and came around to score the tying run.  Hector Luna hit a walk-off homer to lead off the ninth.

Licey:  Anderson Hernandez (Pittsburgh) was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.  Juan Francisco (Atlanta) was 1-for-3 with a three-run homer and a walk, scoring twice.

Aguilas:  Efren Navarro (Angels) was 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk, scoring once and driving in two.  Oscar Taveras (St. Louis) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk and scored twice.
