It's my week at the controls, for better or worse. I figure that we will start the week on a bit more of a subdued note. This is my favorite song from the most recent Chromatics album, Kill for Love. Their music always reminds me of the haze that rolls around in your brain when you're up late at night (which I love) or when you're up early in the morning (which I loathe).
Seeing as most Monday mornings are lost in this haze, I figured this would be a fitting way to kick off the week. I hope you enjoy.
Nice pick. Someone mentioned Chromatics and Drive the other day. That was the only song of their's I'd heard up til now.
They're definitely one of my favorite current working acts. I enjoy their music a ton, and I really like how easy it is to buy music & merch direct from the band. When Kill for Love came out, I bought copies for a couple of friends because the CD was only $5. They repress most of their albums on vinyl several times, so it's not a challenge to get stuff. And you buy direct from them, so they're getting the money. I really, really love that feeling of direct support. It helps that pretty much everything they put out on the label is pretty killer.
Wow. I did not know that about their merch. That's completely awesome. I'm going to buy a ton of stuff from them tonight.
Then my work here is done!
I picked up Kill For Love and Themes For an Imaginary Film by Symmetry. Ten bucks for like eight hundred songs? Sold.
Heck yeah. I'm hoping they get the represses of After Dark and In the City soon. I need to get the Kill for Love vinyl but I don't want to order just that.
I like this album more every time I listen to it.
I listened to the whole thing on Spotify last night. It's definitely now on my list to get.
Zack likes this.
