OBREGON 6, CULIACAN 5 IN OBREGON

Game summary: Obregon led 5-0 after six. Culiacan cut it to 5-4, but Obregon got an insurance run in the eighth. Culiacan scored in the ninth and had the tying run in scoring position with one out.

Culiacan: Sandy Madera was 3-for-3 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one. Marlon Byrd was 3-for-5.

Obregon: Rolando Valdez struck out five in six shutout innings, allowing two hits and three walks. Doug Clark was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

MEXICALI 11, GUASAVE 5 IN MEXICALI

Game summary: Mexicali scored five in the third and led 7-2 after five. Guasave cut it to 7-5 in the top of the eighth, but Mexicali put it away with four in the bottom of the eighth.

Guasave: Mark Hamilton (Boston) was 2-for-2 with a double and three walks, scoring twice. Jesus Cota was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI.

Mexicali: Oscar Robles was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a walk, scoring once and driving in two. Chris Roberson was 2-for-5 with a triple, scoring twice and driving in four.
