No? Well, it doesn't hurt to try.
Anyways, go and share your list of ten random songs from your player/service.

      1. Jeez I'm a Beatles dope. Just like a couple of years ago I referred to Sgt. Peppers as "Sgt. Prestons" on-line. Boy did I get skewered over that.

    *Notes:
    1. Quality tune, perfect for summer mixes for those who dig such things.
    2. Hat tip to Daneeka's Ghost. I'm not blown away, but it's decent tape noise and guitars.
    4. Not music, bird calls. I don't think I need to know what a cormorant sounds like, so I should delete this from my player.
    T. The original release on Dinkytowner, not the NinjaTune reissue. This version is ten seconds longer, with a sample of a voice speaking and some static being edited for the international version.
    B. It should really be (Clearly Superior Clean Version).

    1. B2. Bush “Little Things” Sixteen Stone

This still kicks, but this seems like it was their peak: single #2. (At least as far as US Radio play was concerned.)
I saw them at Edgefest right as this was getting heard ("Everything Zen" had just crested) and they were great.
One or two years later, I saw them at Roy Wilkins and they weren't. Not bad, but the energy sagged, and the cover of REM's "One I Love" seemed obligatory rather than vital fuzzing of a beloved-by-the-band touchstone. If you were at both, YMMHVd.

  6. #29 is Hoist by Phish. I don't see a lot of Phish being spun around here, but I might be the biggest fan of jam bands around these parts. My ten favorite Phish songs then!

      1. I linked to her first single about a month ago, but it bears repeating.

  10. One of my very favorite artists covering a post-punk classic. So good.
    httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QepeWgOcJDg

      1. Agreed. I bet I've listened to that a dozen times since I came across it earlier this Spring. It's not often someone can take an iconic song and (dare I say?) improve on it.

  11. I’m very much in need of a new playlist. This is pseudo random because I skipped over a few things that came up.

    1. “Treehouse” I’m from Barcelona Let Me Introduce My Friends
    2. “Inflammatory Writ” Joanna Newsom The Milk-Eyed Mender
    3. “Acrobat” Angel Olsen Half Way Home
    4. “December” Basia Bulat Oh, My Darling
    5. “March of the Wolfmasters” Janelle Monáe Metropolis, Suite I: The Chase
    6. “A Children's Crusade On Acid” Margot and the Nuclear So and So’s Animal!
    7. “The Book of Right-On” Joanna Newsom The Milk-Eyed Mender
    8. “Blood for Blood” T. Griffin Coraline The Sea Won’t Take Long
    9. “Chickenpox” I’m from Barcelona Let Me Introduce My Friends
    10. “Superhero” Ani Difranco Dilate

    1. I recently picked up that Angel Olsen record and really like it--in part because it reminds me of Tarnation, a long forgotten San Fransisco band from the the early/mid 90's.

  12. I've been on another Italians Do It Better kick because I haven't got a chance to listen to After Dark 2 yet. It's up for $10 on iTunes... or I can wait until they get physical copies in on the IDIB store and order vinyl for $10-15 and get a digital download immediately. My patience is quicky fading, but there's a bunch of stuff being restocked so I really should wait so I don't miss them this time. Argh.

    1. coincidentally, i almost spun some glass candy today, but i couldn't quite find a video to my liking.

i should also add that i really like the idea of digital downloads accompanying vinyl purchases.

*Perhaps my most enjoyable moment ever of teasing Sheenie's sister the music snob involved The Shins. It's too long to explain, but I had both Sheenie and one of her sister's really good friends unable to stifle their laughter at her.

    1. Heard a track while driving the other day. Wondered, "Hmmm, is this Mumford & Sons?" Pictured the automated GIF in my head; nodded, "Why yes, I believe it is."
