      1. Colabello on second, ball hit to SS and he backhands it, Colabello too far off second and tries to make it to third, then tried a rundown and is too slow.

        it wasnt awful, but it wasnt the smartest thing to do.

        2. The ball was hit to his left. You are taught as a base runner to react in that situation away from the ball. So, if it is to your left, go right, as in toward third base. It was just hit hard and Alexei just had a better angle to get him at third. Also, Colabello not exactly fleet of foot.

    2. Groundball pitchers do tend to have a higher HR/FB. Usually a bit lower than today's 25%.

    1. That's what always frustrates me about Bert. He does know baseball, especially pitching, and can break it down as well as anyone when he wants to. It's just that he so rarely wants to.

      1. He's done it at least three or four times today, offering insights that were either relevant to pitching, to history, or both (and I ADORE both). I'm glad he's doing this during a White Sox series so I can actually hear it.

    1. It would be awesome to have Danks relieve Danks. It would require a rather contrived situation (lot of extra innings?), but the sibling rivalry would be great.
