Liam "Welcome back" Hendriks
v
Charles Leesman
Still have no internet, but now due to incompetence. Who thought it was a good idea to have multiple houses share a phone line? Especially when the other house(s) has boring conversations on the phone.
Pregame show, Tim Laudner talking about how it's so awful the Twins are striking out so much, then bemoaning that the Twins pitcher try too hard to strike out guys and need to let the guys behind them make plays. Which one is it?
one thing he fails to say is that the Twins are taking a lot of pitches this year. Not too many times this year where its the 6th inning and the SP is under 90 pitches
Brian 'all your doubles belong to me' Dozier
Joe begs to differ.
'Sup, y'all? Softball got cancelled again tonight, so I'm here with you all.
Not a great route, but nice finish by Rcia.
it was one of those 'stick the glove out and hope it goes in' catches.
Arcia really looking like a superstar out there!
Second K on a 3-2 breaking ball by Leesman.
I would say this is a 'B squad' lineup for a spring training game for the Twins, but really outside of Joe Mauer not playing its real major league players. yeeesh
You could pretty much say that about both teams, right?
give that man a Fielding Grammy
Morneau is due.
ok, so 5 strikeouts out of 7 outs for this pitcher, but his pitch count is 55.
we want to see the Sox bullpen!
Unless Willingham is taking one on the shoulder, he's not helping the team right now.
Bert was asked what is keeping Hendriks from staying in the Majors? His answer 'consistency'
that answer seems vague. consistency in what? low pitch counts? not shaking off the catcher as much?
also, isnt that the stock answer for all our young pitcher struggles? Kyle Gibson needs more consistency, Hendriks does, Scott baker and Kevin Slowey did.
That's the stock answer for all kinds of baseball men his age. I know it was a running joke on FJM. Anytime Morgan, during his online chats, didn't know the answer, he'd fall back on "consistency."
CORMSISTANT!
that is hilarious
I feel like it actually comes from a good place when people do this, though it's not very realistic. They take a snapshot of the best they've ever seen a player play and assume he should be able to play that way all that time. The reality of the fact, however, is that the player just isn't that good. If he were, he would not only play that well all the time, but he'd be even better sometimes. Bert just wants to believe the best about him. Well, not of Baker or Slowey, but the rest of them.
I thought El Caballo had a chance at beating that one out. That is, until the camera pointed toward first base and he was still 5 steps away.
HHeeRRmmaann!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really like this dude.
He's like Butters except that he doesn't suck.
but, can Herrmann pitch?
Given our starting rotation, I'm sure we'll get a chance to find out.
You bring up a valid point. We've weakened our bullpen significantly by demoting him. I mean, Carroll had to pitch the other night.
HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHeRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRman.
I love's me a good Hermmrunn.
winner.
That's a keeper.
HHOMME RRUNN!
there goes the no hitter.
YDNROJMBU!
YYDDNNRROOCCHH!!!!!
Alexi Ramirez should be traded to the National League
ummmm, when Colabello is running and Herrmann is not swinging.... someone messed up
...and the winner for worst stolen base attempt goes to...
aw man
I haven't heard of his stolen base attempt.
Lame.
rally inning
Carroll inching closer to career hit #1000
#994 I believe
So he's like one third of a good hitter.
That would be 1/3 of a Hall of Famer.
how did Colabello lose that fly ball?
hopefully it doesnt cost a run
NICE CATCH CLETE
Once again, Clete Thomas saves the day!
WILLINGHAMMER!
HELL YES
Hammer and cheese.
CONSUELA!!!
That was majestic.
Arcia looked a lot like Delmon in that AB. Flail, flail, fail.
Hey guys, remember when Willingham hit that game tying home run in the 8th inning?
That was awesome.
Arcia does not see many fastballs these days
that said, Lindstrom threw a nasty breaker (curve?) and got his swinging
Anybody else going to be meteor watching this weekend?
*raises hands*
How about we don't try the hit and run this time.
they tried.
Why do they hate runs so much?
For a second there I thought we did it again.
wwaallkk
Dick Bremer: 'Can the Twins find a way to score a run without a home run?'
me: 'a 3 run home run would be awesome right now'
Dick is really into degree of difficulty.
Joey Joe Jo is up!
So clearly the time to pinch run is AFTER we try to steal a base.
damn, nice play by Beckham
Hendricks: 6.2 IP 2 R 7 H
just doesnt know how to win games
needs consistency
I'm promoting him from "proven loser" to "proven no decisioner."
Tie game in the bottom of the eighth. Oh, obviously that's for Roenicke.
Wow. Look at that arm on Florimon.
that was a nice play.
#995
SEND HIM!!!
Man...
So we're saving Perkins until after we've lost the game?
Duensing will get the win and Perkins the save!
At least we have our priorities in order.
Can't help it when I'm right.
Wait a minute, I just realized something. Wins and saves are both worthless stats.
Uh-uh! The team with the most pitching wins always wins its division.
I predict the Twins will score more than 1 run this inning.
I predict the Twins will score
more than1 run this inning.I demand more Hermm runs.
HOLY COWS HRCIA
Adam Dunn is in left!!! Hit it to left! Hit it to left!
That'll do pig. That'll do.
R-See Ya! I'm no chick, but I dig the long ball.
Balls deep!
Oh, for fun!
no way that home run was 417 feet. no. way.
It hit a wall 417 feet maybe.
Fact: It's impossible for a man to flex his biceps without looking at his arm.
this day in video game form
httpv://youtu.be/f2b8R6P7WBU
Glen "The Barber" Perkins.
Good effort by Clete, just a little too far off the bag.
That would have been a sweet way to end it.
Ump must have blinked on that pitch because it was strike three.
Perk getting squeezed
Robot umps!
guaranteed series split!
Brian Duensing, proven winner x2
2 Dunce wins in one day!? Break out the legions of puppies!
And that's why sharks beat piranhas. Or smaller sharks for tonight's game.
ROBOT UMPS NOW!
Also, YAY!
Twins win two! Puppies!
Heh. I like it.
How hairy am I?
Skim: "Awwwww, cute! Wait, is that you?"
So, apparently the bullpen pulled another "videobomb" punch in game two on the HR to right
Keep those brooms handy, boys! We're still on track for 100-62!
