Pitching stars: P. J. Walters pitched seven innings, giving up two runs on six hits and three walks with four strikeouts. Edgar Ibarra pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts. Michael Tonkin pitched a scoreless inning, giving up one hit and no walks with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Justin Germano pitched a complete game, allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits and one walk with five strikeouts. Ryan Goins was 3-for-4.
Key inning: The fifth. The Red Wings trailed 2-0. A single and a walk put runners on first and second with two out. Escobar hit a single-and-error with plated two runs to tie the score. Chris Parmelee then reached on an error to bring home the go-ahead run.

Key inning: The seventh. Already leading 4-0, the Fisher Cats scored five times to put the game away. Jacobo had an RBI double, Jimenez an RBI single, and Ryan Schimpf hit a three-run homer. The runs came off Blake Martin, who had come in with two out in the sixth.

Key inning #1: The sixth. The Kernels trailed 5-1. Singles by Goodrum and Polanco put runners on the corners with none out. A force out plated the first run. With two out, Licon hit a three-run homer to tie the score.
Key inning #2: The ninth. It was still tied 5-5. Jonathan Murphy led off with a single and advanced to second when Goodrum was hit by a pitch. With one out, Adam Brett Walker II doubled to bring in the winning run.
