August 18, 2013: Missing It

I have a love/hate relationship with going to see live theater. It's about the happiest I ever get, but man, it makes me wish I had a life and job that allowed me to do it whenever I want.

    1. Pretty cool. So the dirt is from Pennsylvania (400 tons a year!), and the grass originally came from a farm in Colorado.

Also, I think that's the first time I've seen the service tunnel in left field open.

  1. Ryan Dempster purposely drills ARod (after missing on his first attempt)
    Does not get ejected
    benches warns
then the Yankees rally for at least two runs.
    smooth move Dempster

ESPN now has talking points for the next week.

    1. Just came here to post all this. I saw it live here at work.

Dempster took four pitches to find A-Rod, finally hitting him on a 3-0 pitch as the idiot Nation cheered on their squeaky-clean team. Dempster should no doubt have been ejected in this situation.

Of all the things I hate about this, the thing I hate the most is that it makes me mildly sympathetic to the Yankees.

      1. but, if you are going to plunk a dude, you have to make sure he doesnt score.
This whole situation is a big ball of stupid

BUT, it did make me turn it to ESPN for like 5 minutes. So, mission accomplished.

      2. Not sympathetic to the Yankees, just hate the Red Sox more. Didn't realize it was possible, but there it is.

    2. one things about this game that I have learned: Curt Schilling is surprisingly good in the broadcast booth and this Shulman/Kruk/Schilling announcing booth is alright.

      1. let me correct myself: Schilling talking about pitching is great, Schilling talking about everything else is dumb.

    1. Deduno says he's been feeling pain for a couple of weeks, and Gardy says Deduno says he feels fine. Something's not right about that.

        1. I heard Dazzle on the radio after the game make some throwaway remark about how we'll probably hear about him blaming a dead arm for his start, so I definitely think it's right in the SOPs. It's too bad we don't have Cuddy on the case to give Souhan some choice quotes about what a wimp he is.

          1. I heard Dazzle's comment, too. It was something to the effect of he didn't even know what a "dead arm" was. I've never heard a man more proud of his ignorance than Dazzle.
