ARAGUA 9, CARACAS 8 IN ARAGUA

TwinsJermaine Mitchell (Aragua) was 0-for-4 with a walk and scored once.  Cole DeVries (Aragua) struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up three hits and no walks.  Dakota Watts (Aragua) retired both batters he faced.  Aaron Thompson (Aragua) struck out one in two-thirds of an inning, giving up no runs on one hit and one walk.

Caracas:  Gregorio Petit (San Diego) was 2-for-3 with two walks and a home run, scoring three times.  Carlos Perez (Houston) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double, scoring twice and driving in one.  Diegomar Markwell pitched 3.2 scoreless innings, giving up three hits and no walks with one strikeout.

Aragua:  Jim Murphy (Philadelphia) was 3-for-4 with a home run, scoring twice and driving in four.  Jose Martinez (Houston) was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run, driving in three.  Guillermo Rodriguez was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

The game:  Aragua scored five in the first, but Caracas got four in the second.  It stayed 5-4 until the sixth, when Caracas got three to take a 7-5 lead.  Aragua bounced back with four in the seventh to go up 9-7.  Caracas loaded the bases in the eighth, but did not score.  They got the tying run to first base in the ninth.

ANZOATEGUI 8, MARGARITA 6 IN ANZOATEGUI

TwinsAntoan Richardson (Margarita) was 1-for-3 with a walk and scored twice.

Margarita:  Caleb Joseph (Baltimore) was 2-for-4 with a walk and two doubles, driving in two.  Adam Duvall (San Francisco) was 2-for-4 with a walk, a double, and a home run, scoring twice and driving in three.  Fernando Nieve pitched three shutout innings, giving up one hit and one walk with two strikeouts.

Anzoategui:  Cory Aldridge was 3-for-4 with a double and a triple, scoring once and driving in one.  Jose Gil (Yankees) was 3-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in two.  Jose Castillo was 2-for-3 with a walk, a double, and a triple, scoring twice and driving in one.

The game:  The score was tied at three, at five, and at six.  In the bottom of the seventh, Gil hit a two-run double to give Anzoategui an 8-6 lead.

LARA 8, LA GUAIRA 2 IN LA GUAIRA

Lara:  Jairo Perez was 2-for-5 with two home runs and four RBIs.  Joc Pederson (Dodgers) was 2-for-3 with two walks and a home run, scoring three times.  Chris Jakubauskas pitched three shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk with one strikeout.

La Guaira:  Jose Martinez (Atlanta) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run.

The game:  Perez hit a three-run homer in the first to give Lara a 3-0 lead.  They added two in the fourth to make it 5-0 and La Guaira never got closer.

ZULIA 12, MAGALLANES 3 IN MAGALLANES

Zulia:  Ender Inciarte (Arizona) was 3-for-4 and scored three times.  Felix Perez (Cincinnati) was 2-for-4 with a home run, scoring twice and driving in two.  Josh Schmidt struck out four in four shutout innings, giving up two hits and two walks.

Magallanes:  Mario Lisson was 3-for-3 with a walk and a double, driving in two.  Rougned Odor was 2-for-3 and scored once.

The game:  A four-run fifth put Zulia ahead 8-0.  Mark Minicozzi (San Francisco) and Perez hit back-to-back home runs in the inning.
