I'm going to see Ha Ha Tonka at the 7th Street Entry on Wednesday. Anyone else?

#2 is 19 seconds long making it the 8th shortest song in my collection.
the shortest song on my player is 0:43 long. 'Introduction' by The Kinks off the Lola album. Its just basically a banjo playing a tune, which cycles back on the final song 'Got To Be Free'
"Absolute Elsewhere" by Coil, off the "How to Destroy Angels" CD. Two seconds of silence, replicating the empty lock-grooves of the B-side of the vinyl.
I've got 98 tracks from Ryoji Ikeda's "20' to 2000" entry, Variations For Modulated 440Hz Sinewaves, which are 12 second each. To make the EP fit the 20-minute goal of the series, track 99 is 24 second.
20 songs under 30 second on my i-pod. Four are between songs patter, 3 are from The Who's Tommy, 4 are GBV, 2 from Paul's Boutique and 2 Pavement.

"Symphony of Destruction" is one of those songs that if it had come to my attention when I had some allowance saved, might have pushed me down the metal pathway. I loved that song, but never took the step to actually purchase it. Similar story for several Metallica albums.
I never knew who sang this...always thought it was something from a Metallica album that I didn't own. I was getting into grunge in '93 so heavy/thrash metal didn't get explored.
Listening to The Lens lately; they're an instrumental new age/shoegazer/prog thing, and nice background for work.

That Arrested Development cassette was among my first purchases, read an article about them in some music magazine for kids, then saw the tape in the local store. This was back when I was still an easy mark for advertising like that.
/off to read pitchfork
//off to buy new Sleigh Bells album
They did a great "Tennessee" on SNL back in the day
I bought that tape because of Tennessee.
The singles were all very good.
Well, "Tennessee", "People Everyday", and "Mr. Wendall".
I ended up on their fan list (because it was free) and ended up buying the likewise-minded but much less good album from Gumbo.
Got the "lost" Patty Griffin lp that was recorded back in 2000 but just saw it's official bow this month. Label mergers and clueless suits deemed it wasn't worthy of release. Thankfully, that wrong has been righted. Herewith the ferociously rocking title cut.

The first I heard of Patty Griffin was a promo EP for Silver Bell, which I got at the Electric Fetus and which I gifted to EAR when she was EAP. I said "I think you will like this". She sure did.
I used the internet years ago to get some purported version of the album, but I should get the real release now.
Yep. That song rocked.
Anyone ever listen to any digital hardcore?
Earlier this week, Low's Twitter linked to something from Alec Empire, and the youngest two really enjoyed it.
I don't have much stuff, as I got tired of the sound halfway through whatever it was I listened to.
Looking for some things that I won't mind the girls hearing, so things like the ATR/Slayer collab "No Remorse/I Want to Die" is out.
Or even just the screaminess of, say, "Deutschland Has Gotta Die" is out, too. (I don't know what those lyrics are.)
I just played LBR some EC8OR. Maybe that's not what I'm looking for, maybe more just drill'n'bass like Plug or early Squarepusher.
I went down to the basement, pulled out Big Loada
As soon as "Come on My Selector" starts, LBR's eyes open big and she starts nodding her head.
Then she took the teal jelly looking pacifier from a doll and put it in her own mouth. She's a raver at 20 months!

The Replacements made the list of nominees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Class of 2014. Other first timers on the ballot are Peter Gabriel, Hall & Oates, Nirvana, Link Wray, Linda Ronstadt, Yes and the Zombies.
Welcome to the discussion!
