Having caught up with the AFL, we move on to Venezuela. There were no games on 10/14. Here, we had six Twins playing and all did well.
ARAGUA 4, MARGARITA 3 IN MARGARITA
Twins: Jermaine Mitchell (Aragua) was 1-for-3 with two walks and scored twice. Antoan Richardson (Margarita) was 2-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI. Dakota Watts (Aragua) pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and no walks. Aaron Thompson (Aragua) pitched 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and no walks with one strikeout.
Aragua: Luis Maza was 2-for-5 with a double. Jose Martinez (Houston) was 2-for-5. Yorman Bazardo struck out six in four innings, giving up one run on four hits and no walks.
Margarita: Breyvic Valera (St. Louis) was 2-for-4 with a triple, scoring once and driving in two. Carlos Monasterios pitched four shutout innings, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out three.
The game: Hector Gimenez hit a two-run single to cap a three-run seventh and put Aragua ahead 3-1. Aragua added one in the ninth and needed it, because Valera hit a tw0-out RBI triple and came around to score to make the score 4-3. Margarita did not get the tying run on base.
Random: It seems like, if you were writing a science fiction story, "Breyvic" would be a good name to give one of the aliens.
MAGALLANES 7, ZULIA 4 IN ZULIA
Twins: Deolis Guerra (Magallanes) pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout. Virgil Vasquez (Zulia) struck out seven in seven innings, giving up one run on four hits and one walk.
Magallanes: Rougned Odor was 2-for-3 with a walk and scored once. Argenis Diaz (Detroit) was 2-for-4 and scored once. Mario Lisson was 2-for-5 with a three-run homer, his third.
Zulia: Adrian Sanchez (Washington) was 2-for-4 with a double and scored twice. Juan Apodaca (Texas) was 2-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.
The game: Zulia scored three in the third to take a 3-0 lead. They still led 3-1 after seven. Magallanes took a 4-3 lead in the eighth on a three-run homer by Lisson. They got three more in the ninth on a pinch-hit three-run double by Erold Andrus.
ANZOATEGUI 6, CARACAS 5 IN CARACAS
Anzoategui: Carlos Duran was 2-for-2 with a double and scored once. Cory Aldridge was 2-for-4 with a three-run homer, his second.
Caracas: Daniel Mayora was 3-for-4 with a three-run homer. Jesus Aguilar (Cleveland) was 2-for-3 with a walk and scored once. Gregorio Petit (San Diego) was 2-for-4.
The game: Caracas had leads of 3-0 and 4-3. Anzoategui led 5-4 after seven. An RBI ground out scored the tying run for Caracas in the eighth. In the ninth, Duran hit a one-out double, went to third on a ground out, and scored on a balk.
