Almost all the Twins did well. Home runs by Jorge Polanco and Deibinson Romero weren't enough for Escogido.
AGUILAS 7, CIBAO 4 IN CIBAO (11 INNINGS)
Twins: Danny Santana (Aguilas) was 2-for-5 with a walk and a double, scoring twice.
Aguilas: Juan Perez (San Francisco) was 2-for-5 with two runs and an RBI. Zoilo Almonte (Yankees) was 2-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Andy Marte (Angels) was 2-for-6 with an RBI.
Cibao: Oscar Tejada (Pittsburgh) was 3-for-5 with a triple and a home run, driving in three. Maikel Franco (Philadelphia) was 3-for-4 and scored once.
The game: Cibao scored single runs in the seventh and eighth to tie the score at four. In the eleventh, Perez drove in the go-ahead run with a single. Aguilas got two insurance runs on a two-out throwing error.
Random: The first four batters for Aguilas each had two hits.
LICEY 5, ESCOGIDO 3 IN LICEY
Twins: Jorge Polanco (Escogido) was 2-for-4 with a home run and scored twice. Deibinson Romero (Escogido) was 1-for-3 with a walk and a home run.
Escogido: Edward Valdez struck out four in four innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks.
Licey: Jurickson Profar (Texas) was 4-for-4 and scored twice. Hector Noesi (Seattle) pitched five innings, allowing one run on three hits and two walks.
The game: Escogido tied the score at two in the top of the seventh. In the bottom half, Yamaico Navarro (Baltimore) hit a three-run homer to put Licey ahead 5-2. Escogido did not get the tying run on base.
ESTE 10, ORIENTE 7 IN ESTE
Twins: Chris Herrmann (Oriente) was 0-for-2.
Oriente: Alfredo Marte (Arizona) was 3-for-4 with a walk and three doubles, scoring once and driving in four. Dean Anna (San Diego) was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Evan MacLane pitched 3.2 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and no walks with two strikeouts.
Este: Eugenio Velez (Milwaukee) was 3-for-4 with a walk and a double, scoring twice and driving in one. Ricardo Nanita (Toronto) was 2-for-4 with a walk, scoring once and driving in three. Elih Villaneuva (Miami) struck out five in three shutout innings, allowing three hits and no walks.
The game: Oriente led 6-5 and 7-6, but Este got two in the seventh to take the lead and two more in the eighth to insure the victory.
