Australian Audit: Games of 11/1

Some good days for Adelaide batters.  It ain't over till it's over in Canberra.

ADELAIDE 10, BRISBANE 6 IN BRISBANE

Twins:  Logan Wade (Brisbane) was 0-for-3 with a walk.

Adelaide:  Joe Sclafani (Houston was 4-for-6 with a double and a home run, scoring twice and driving in four.  James Baldwin (Dodgers) was 4-for-5 with two runs and an RBI.  Ben Lodge was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double, scoring once.

Brisbane:  Joey Rickard (Tampa Bay) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a home run, scoring twice.  Andrew Campbell (Cleveland) was 2-for-5.

The game:  It was 4-4 after five innings.  In the sixth, Adelaide got a two-run homer by Sclafani to go ahead 6-4.  They took control with four more in the seventh, including a double steal of second and home.  Brisbane got two in the eighth but never threatened to get back into the game.

CANBERRA 4, MELBOURNE 3 IN CANBERRA (10 INNINGS)

Melbourne:  Josh Davies was 3-for-4 with a run.  Tyler Massey (Colorado) was 2-for-4 with a double and a run.

Canberra:  Jeremy Barnes was 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs.  Casey Frawley was 2-for-4 with a double and two runs.  Ethan Cole pitched six innings, allowing an unearned run on four hits and no walks with three strikeouts.

The game:  Canberra scored three in the sixth to take a 3-1 lead.  Melbourne came back with single runs in the seventh and ninth to tie, with the tying run coming on an RBI single by Freddy Flores.  In the tenth, Barnes doubled to score Frawley all the way from first for the game-winner.

PERTH 10, SYDNEY 0 IN PERTH

Sydney:  Keon Broxton (Arizona) was 2-for-4 with a double.

Perth:  Dean White was 3-for-5 with a double and a triple, scoring once and driving in three.  Brandon Tripp was 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and three runs.  Mike Ekstrom struck out nine in seven innings, allowing three hits and a walk.

The game:  Leading 1-0, Perth got three in the third, two of them on a two-run single by Alex Stuart, to take control.  They added one in the fifth, two in the seventh, and three in the eighth.
