PONCE 9, MAYAGUEZ 3 IN MAYAGUEZ

Twins:  Daniel Ortiz (Mayaguez) was 0-for-4.  Kennys Vargas (Mayaguez) was 1-for-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, scoring twice.  Nelvin Fuentes (Mayaguez) pitched a perfect inning.

Ponce:  Jose Ruiz was 3-for-4 with a walk and a two-run homer, scoring three times.  Rubi Silva (Cubs) was 2-for-4 with a walk, scoring twice and driving in one.  Yovan Gonzalez (Cincinnati) was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

Mayaguez:  Danny Gonzalez was 3-for-4 with an RBI.  Michael Taylor (Oakland) was 2-for-3 with a walk and a double.

The game:  Ponce led 1-0 after two and scored four in the third to take control.  They had two walks, two singles, a wild pitch, and a double in the inning.  The cloest Mayaguez got was 5-2 in the fourth.
