Fall Festival: The Fall Stars Game

They're actually calling it that now.  Veteran readers will remember that I started calling it that years ago.  I always was a trend-setter.

WEST 9, EAST 2 AT WEST

Twins (West team)Byron Buxton was 1-for-4 with a walk, scoring once and driving in one.  Eddie Rosario was 1-for-2 with a run.  Alex Meyer started and struck out three in three shutout innings, giving up three hits and one walk.

East:  Mason Williams (Yankees) was 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI.  Jorge Soler (Cubs) was 1-for-1 with a walk.

West:  Brett Nicholas (Texas) was 3-for-4 with two home runs.  Stefan Romero (Seattle) was 2-for-2 with two home runs and three RBIs.  Colin Moran (Miami) was 2-for-2 with a walk.

The game:  The West scored two in the third, with the first run scoring on an error and the second on an infield out.  They added two more in the fourth, as one scored on a solo homer by Nicholas and the other on a wild pitch.  A two-run homer by Romero in the sixth made it 6-0 and put the game out of reach.
