Australian Audit: Games of 11/9

A pair of complete games in Adelaide.  Bases-loaded doubles in two of the three games.

ADELAIDE 2, PERTH 0 IN ADELAIDE (GAME 1--SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)

Perth:  Jack Frawley struck out eight in a six-inning complete game, giving up two runs on three hits and two walks.

Adelaide:  Kyle Bruggemann pitched as seven-inning complete game shutout, allowing two hits and no walks with three strikeouts.

The game:  Adelaide scored both runs in the first inning on a two-run double by Ben Lodge.

PERTH 8, ADELAIDE 2 IN ADELAIDE (GAME 2)

Perth:  Joey Wong was 3-for-4 with a walk and scored twice.  Tucker Nathans was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in two.  Brandon Tripp was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.

Adelaide:  Joe Sclafani (Houston) was 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs.  Ben Lodge was 2-for-4 with a walk and an RBI.  Chris Adamson was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

The game:  With the score tied at one, Perth scored four in the fifth.  Nathans hit a two-run double in the inning.  Adelaide got one back, but Perth scored three more in the sixth on a bases-clearing double by Jesse Barron to put it away.

CANBERRA 6, SYDNEY 1 IN SYDNEY<>/h4>

Canberra:  Casey Frawley was 2-for-4 with a walk and a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Shane Opitz (Philadelphia) was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in one.  Ethan Cole pitched 7.1 innings, giving up one run on five hits and one walk with five strikeouts.

Sydney:  Zach Shepherd was 2-for-3 with a run.  Joey DeMichele (White Sox) was 2-for-4.

The game:  Canberra scored five unearned runs in the fifth to take a 5-0 lead.  Jeremy Barnes hit a three-run double in the inning.
