An inspirational WGOM fitness quote by our 26th (and my favorite) potii. Dude rocked! Grew up sickly and asthmatic, but overcame his weaknesses by powering through them.
There's a good review in this week's The New Yorker on a recent book by Doris Goodwin about the relationship between T.R. and Taft called Progress's Pilgrims. Also, The River of Doubt is a great Roosevelt read if you haven't.
This morning's run was a cold (39F) and windy 12 mile run around West Hartford. Tried out a new flavor (no flavor) of Gu Energy Gel - Just Plain - not bad. Espresso Love is still my fav.
Next weekend I'll be doing the Moustache Half Marathon in Minneapolis (Their website says Your Whiskers Could Use Some Fresh Air - Awesome!).
Today's free opera (NPR) at 1PM EST is Mozart's Don Giovanni by the Houston Opera.
Florida State (2) is playing at home today against Idaho at 3:30EST. Go Noles!
I'm making the switch to GU Chomps. They taste a lot better and you can also spread them out more during the course of your run.
I finished the Annapolis Half Marathon yesterday and beat my personal worse by about 40 seconds! Given the difficulty of the course, and the fact that I'm heavier than usual, I was quite pleased with the result.
I hope it warms up for you in MPLS. It was awfully cold and windy today.
I ran 3.5 tonight in William OBrian. It was 20F and windy but I just added a layer and a Gopher ski cap.
