It's a strange game, this baseball.
You just never know, do you? You lose three games to Oakland and you think, "Well, here we go again." Then you win a couple against Kansas City, and you think, "Hey, maybe we'll be okay after all."
It's a strange game, this baseball.
Then you break a scoreless tie with a two-run homer in the seventh and get your hopes for a sweep, only to have them dashed as the other team scores three times in the eighth. Then you get a couple of walks with your best batter up and you think, "Maybe we can win this game yet." Then your best batter strikes out and you think, "Well, so much for that."

Then, with the bases loaded, here comes a guy who's hardly played in the big leagues and hit .223 in AAA. Sure enough, he hits a double play ball back to the pitcher. But then, the pitcher makes a rridiculous errrrorr and you go ahead 4-3.

The next thing you know your closer comes in and strikes out two guys. Then, the batter hits a foul pop-up, but your catcher falls down going after it and the ball falls and you just know that something bad is going to happen after that. But then, the batter is called out for interfering with your catcher and the game is over. You've won. The sweep is complete.

But, as they say, always well as ends well. The Twins get tomorrow off, then come back to play three against Toronto starting Tuesday. Having won three in a row, there can be no doubt that they will complete their season-ending one hundred fifty-three game winning streak. We're still on track for 156-6!
Humph - never heard this version before. Or, maybe I've heard it but never knew what the actual words were. In either case, I agree with the sentiment!
TWINS BASEBALL!!!
Or maybe it's the required "[sic]" to ensure half-bakefness. Go Twins
This recap is delightful.
I hate to ask for more content from JeffA, but I love these and I look forward to reading his recaps for the whole season.
Very kind of both of you. Others signed up for Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday games, and I am more than happy to allow people to take other days if they wish. I'm just trying to fill in the days no one signed up for.
