Our "ace" squares off against their rookie phenom. Taking 2 of 3 from these guys on the road would be something. If they pull it off, that would make the Twins 6 for 6 in series against the AL East (!?).

déjà vu from yesterday??
what are you complaining about this time?Santana single, and then...
Ahh, my bad. Not watching the game. Thought I made an error above.
Willinghammered, instead of Dozier'd!!
Hammer Time
Nunez at short? Awesome. Good thing Hughes avoids the infield.
THE LONG DARK DEPRESSION IS OVER!!
for now
Mark your calendars, Mauer with a hit.
MLB Free Game of the day!
My company's internet is through Saint Looie, so there it is on my screen.
Boss is out for the rest of the week but wants deliverables delivered next week. I'll mostly just listen.
If they pull it off, that would make the Twins 6 for 6 in series against the AL East (!?).
I was looking at standings this morning. Twins are 11-10 in division, 11-6 against the East, 2-2 against the NL Central, but 6-15 against the ALWest and NLWest combined.
Also, Redmond's Marlins are 34-30, a half-game out of first and out of the first WC spot, tied for the second with the Dodgers.
I wish the guy named Gose would play for the Twins.
He reminds me I need some Schell's Goosetown.
In looking it up on Wikipedia, I had no idea that the entire style of beer had disappeared from 1966-1986.
I've never had the style from anyone else, but Schell's version is so nice and refreshing on hot summer days.
I was afraid at the mention of coriander, but it's very subtle, unlike just about every other beer I've had that is made with the spice.
I remember hearing stories of some NU locals that would salt their beers. I wonder if a Gose is what they were trying to reproduce.
I've never actually had a Gose, but I will be on the lookout for the Goosetown because I've been digging the hell out of the Schell's seasonals lately.
is a Gose anything like a Gueuze?
Nein.
au contraire.
And I wish Aaron Louploup pitched for the Twins
You can see the seams in the turf on tv. gross.
Only have GameDay what happened to Dozier on the Fielder's Choice?
nothing.
He's day to day with lower back pain; was involved in a minor collision with Nunez in the outfield earlier and might have aggravated something
Thanks
Mauer with two hits, and now he's almost back to .300 -- it's almost magical how he does that!
Is there a running tally of manager challenges? Gardy seems pretty bad at them.
Yes, but it's a bit hidden on the main page of BR.
The most successful manager at challenges?
The worst?
It says something for the umpires that the most successful manager at challenges is still below .500.
Gardy?
Jeff may have seen it when I had it written as "X-Y" instead of "X out of Y". I realized X-Y looks too similar to win-loss so rewrote it rather than do the math.
Oh I see,
Exactly. I read it as 11 wins, 13 losses.
Welcome back to the big leagues, Bobby Korecky!
I hope they don't let him hit!
Most depressing MLB Gameday "Scout" ever:
I think Kendry-not-silent-s Morales has his timing back.
Burton working on the SOC for Perk.
Hughes finishes with nine strikeouts, one off his career best. And no walks of course.
Mauer with another hit.
HE'S ALMOST UP TO .350!!
So we're still all quite happy with this Hughes signing, yeah?
Yes, especially living here in Yankee land where I can rub it in a little!
I just found out yesterday that the Yankee fan I worked with is quitting, so I only have another week to give him crap about Hughes.
get busy, dude
I kind of feel bad for the guy with the Knicks hiring Derek Fisher, the Rangers getting stomped and the Yankees being crap.... wait, no I don't.
doesn't he just Count teh Ringz???
Man, we Americans still don't have any kind of reputation for excellent brews here in England. I mentioned American beers that are available at the bar across the street again tonight and the English service engineer I'm with tonight scoffed as much as I've seen anyone scoff calling it nothing more than crap lager. Ah well, more for us then.
Well, what were those American "beers" available across the street?
Sweet Action, The Crisp, and Bengali Tiger from Sixpoint in cans; Wheat Street from Sixpoint on cask (which I haven't tried yet); and The Publican from Societe on cask (which I had tonight.) So, some of the best we have to offer, really. Bloody Englishman.
Huh. I don't think I know from Societe Brewing Co. I need to rectify that, I guess.
Yes you do. I went to the tasting room when I was in San Diego and it was some good stuff.
Hugs are good for health, I hear.
