    1. I was going to say, "at least they're putting the ball in play" and then Willingham and Escobar struck out...

  1. This has not been a series for offense. I hope Gibson can maintain for the last five innings what he has for the first four.

  2. Gibson and Lackey both have 5 strikeouts through 4 innings. I wouldn't have expected that.

  3. I would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone that the new Gameday is completely terrible, a fact exasperated by the classic Gameday failing to load for me today and Gameday mini blocked at work for some reason.

      1. I tried to go to it, but it freezes on the loading screen every time. I can't even see all of the information on the new Gameday on my laptop screen.

    1. I can't get Mini or Classic at work, either. Plus, the "regular" Gameday only shows pitches and doesn't update play-by-play or anything.

So, in summary- I agree, new Gameday sucks.

    2. I've had occasional problems at the office with stuff disappearing. I assume it's had something to do with a filter/firewall thing to keep people from streaming things and burning bandwidth.
I always type in the Classic URL. Add this to the first link: "&mode=classic".
What I mean is that when I first clicked the ongoing Cinci at Pitt game, I get this link.
So I change it to this URL.
This way if it lags or misses an at-bat, I can refresh and get back to where I was.

  4. What the hell is going on here? Has Gibson been talking with Hughes a lot, or something?

  5. Enough about Joe, I sure wouldn't mind seeing Willingham or Dozier get their mojo back.

    Josh:
In his first 17 games after coming off the DL, he was 18 for 57 with 5 HR, 17 RBI and 14 BB's & SO's for a slash line of .316/.467/.632.
    In his past 6 games*, he is 1 for 18 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 3 BB's to 6 SO's for a slash line of .067/.222/.133.

    Brian:
    In his last 23 games*, he is 15 for 82 with 4 HR, 10 RBI and 13 BB's & 16 SO's for a slash line of .183/.299/.402 and only 3 SB's.

    *not including today

  6. Danny Santana joins a vaguely elite club: the players that have played shortstop and center field in a single game. It's happened 307 times since 1914. Anyone guess the last Twin to do so?

      1. Dang it, I knew the right answer, but I thought my guess did it as well more recently. Must have been a different switch.

  7. Uehara? You can't use your closer in a non-save situation! Sounds like an eight-run inning to me!

  8. No offense to Fien, but I'd feel more comfortable with Perkins in there now. Assuming Fryer can frame pitches to his satisfaction, of course.

  9. Padre says, "No offense to Fien, but I'd feel more comfortable with Perkins in there now."
    I say, "Offend away."

  10. That was an amazingly effective appearance by Fien. He really finished that game off.

Can we trade him to Boston now?
