I'm doing ok on the picks, but can't keep up with everyone on getting the scores right. I'm now trending toward the same score for every game until at least one of them turns up right.
It worked!
I had that one, too!
The Columbian National Team has some sweet dance moves..
It's comical that Wayne Rooney cannot score in the World Cup. Also, the Univision announcers rolling the R in Rooney is phenomenal.
and it just keeps getting more and more comical. Wow.
You were saying?
Now he's just ruined a great joke.
Suarez scoring on England was the most predictable goal of the entire tournament. It's a shame that it was Jagielka who got torched on that beautiful back shoulder run.
I may have to check on my English buddies...
For England to move on now, they need Italy to beat Costa Rica tomorrow and Uruguay on the final day. Then if England beats Costa Rica, there is a three way tie for second place.
If all that happens England will already be above Uruguay on goal differential, so at most they will have to beat Costa Rica by two goals (depending on the margin of victory in ITA-CRC, any win might be enough) in order to move on.
That doesn't seem too ridiculous of a scenario.
Not totally ridiculous, but it's rough needing two specific wins (that don't involve your own team) to go your way.
Japan didn't look very good against 10-man Greece. Greece in the other hand, I wouldn't have been surprised if they had somehow scrounged a goal. If they can beat Cote d'Ivoire they're through, which would be about the most likely Greece thing ever.
During the Japan-Greece match that I think Japan forgot that they had a man advantage. Greece played better when they were down. It was weird, and ugly football.
Japan seemed to stay really narrow in the second half when they had their man advantage. Although I'm not sure width would have helped them a ton since they had no joy on crosses into the box, but maybe they could have gotten a man or two of Greece's back 8 out of position. They didn't seem to have the sort of tight quarters passing that can be used to unlock the bunker, either.
