2014 Game 83: Kansas City Royals vs. Minnesota Twins

The Twins hope to keep their home winning ways intact (relatively to their recent sojourns) in this rubber match against the Royals. A series win would certainly be a nice boost as they prepared to host the Yankees for a 4 game affair. Oh yeah, and:

    1. Sorry, I typed most of this up, then realized it was actually Wednesday. My bad. Didn't see anything else going, so I took it out of the trash and brushed it off.

      1. Totally forgot it was a day game. I just got back from swimming lessons (for the girls...I've got swimming on lockdown) and planned to set it up. Oh well.

        1. swimming was the only athletic endeavor I was ever even halfways decent at.
I had great times as an 8-year-old in backstroke sprints
I had good times as a 10-year-old in backstroke sprints
I had qualifying times as a 12-year-old in backstroke sprints
As a 14-year-old I only got to go to meets for the Medley Relay, and only because there were three good male swimmers my age. I started them out behind and they caught up.

I didn't get worse, they just expected me to get better.

  1. Provus: So, how about a stolen base in this situation.
Dazzle: No, not here. Vargas has too good of a move. etc. etc.

    *cue Fuld caught stealing*

    [EDIT] Reviewed and overturned!

    1. I was offered a free ticket, but turned it down. Kind of regretting that now. Absolutely gorgeous weather.

    2. Had a smoked meat sandwich from the Zimmerman stand. Something called maple syrup hot sauce on top. Very good.

    3. ...and if anybody has heard Bill Cosby's bit about Jeffrey on the airplane- his name was Axel and he was at the ballpark this afternoon.

  2. Dozier's making sawdust up there. He had a little stretch there of games a couple weeks ago (going 9-17) where I thought he was coming out of it, but since then, he's on a 1-28 stretch with 3 BB's. Gotta get off the schneid.

Edit - I know he's not the only one.

    1. None of the Twins do. Every reasonable AS possibility for the Twins has slumped of late: Hughes, Dozier, Suzuki and Perkins. Well, I don't know if Perkins has actually slumped, but he gave up a run today. Perkins did have that 3K, 10 pitch the other day.
