Batting star: Lewin Diaz was 1-for-3 with two walks.
Pitching stars: Jose Martinez pitched six shutout innings, giving up three hits and a walk with four strikeouts. Moises Gomez struck out two in 1.2 scoreless innings, giving up two walks. Johan Quezada struck out two in a perfect inning.
Opposition stars: Gerson Jimenez was 1-for-2 with a walk and a hit-by-pitch, driving in one. Frangel Feliciano was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Yan Sanchez was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run.
The game: An RBI single by Luis Arraez capped a two-run first inning that gave the Twins a 2-0 lead. They left the bases loaded in that inning and again in the second. They left two men on in the fifth and sixth. They would regret the missed opportunities, as the Diamondbacks came up with four in the seventh to take the lead. Two errors, a walk, and a bases-loaded hit batsman aided the Diamondbacks in their rally. The Twins stranded thirteen runners.
Of note: Jorge Andrade was 1-for-3 with a walk. Junior Amarante was 1-for-4 with a run. Jermaine Palacios was 0-for-4 with a walk and a run. Arraez was 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. Jorge Parra was 1-for-4.
