Opposition stars: Dylan Axelrod pitched a complete game, allowing two hits and a walk with five strikeouts. Thomas Neal was 1-for-2 with two walks. Steve Selsky was 1-for-2 with a walk.
The game: Two singles, a walk, and a double play plated a run for Louisville in the first inning. That was it for the scoring. The only time Rochester got a man to second base was in the fourth, when James Beresford hit a one-out double. He did not advance and that was the last Red Wings hit of the game.

AKRON 3, NEW BRITAIN 2 IN NEW BRITAIN
Batting stars: Reynaldo Rodriguez was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer, his fifteenth. Nate Hanson was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run. Tony Thomas was 2-for-4 with a double.
Pitching stars: Jason Wheeler pitched six innings, giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Adrian Salcedo struck out two in two shutout innings, giving up one hit.
Opposition stars: Duke von Schamann pitched seven innings, allowing two runs on seven hits and no walks with four strikeouts. Anthony Gallas was 2-for-3 with a walk and a run.
The game: Rodriguez hit a two-run homer in the first inning to give New Britain a 2-0 lead. That was as good as it got for the Rock Cats. In the third, Jordan Smith hit a two-run double to tie it and in the fourth Erik Gonzalez doubled in a run to give Akron a 3-2 advantage. The Twins got a leadoff double from Thomas in the seventh and a two-out double from Mike Gonzales in the ninth but did not advance either man past second base.
Of note: Jorge Polanco was 0-for-4. Eddie Rosario was 0-for-4.

CEDAR RAPIDS 9, WISCONSIN 0 IN WISCONSIN
Batting stars: Engelb Vielma was 2-for-5 with two runs and two RBIs. Bryan Haar was 2-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.
PItching stars: Ricky Nolasco started and pitched 3.2 innings, giving up two hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Ryan Eades struck out five in 4.1 innings of relief, giving up two hits and three walks. Hudson Boyd pitched one inning, giving up a hit and a walk.
Opposition stars: Clint Terry pitched four perfect innings of relief, striking out two. Taylor Brennan was 2-for-4 with a double and a walk.
The game: A run scored on a double play in the first inning to give Cedar Rapids a 1-0 lead. RBI singles by Haar and Alex Swim made it 3-0 after three. The Kernels then came up with a six-run fourth to put the game out of reach. Vielma had a two-run single, Chad Christensen hit a two-run homer, a run scored on a ground out, and Logan Wade singled in a run. Wisconsin's biggest threat came in the ninth, when they had men on second and third with two out, but a foul out ended the game.
Of note: Joe Mauer was 1-for-3 with a run. Swim was 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. Max Murphy was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
JOHNSON CITY 3, ELIZABETHTON 2 IN ELIZABETHTON (10 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Brett Doe was 2-for-4 with a double. Jorge Fernandez was 1-for-3 with a walk and a run.
Pitching stars: Starter Randy LeBlanc pitched 3.1 innings, giving up a run on five hits and no walks with no strikeouts. Cameron Booser pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout. Dereck Rodriguez gave up his first run in twenty innings (12 appearances) but still pitched well, striking out three in three innings and giving up only one run on two hits and a walk.
Opposition stars: Steven Farinaro pitched five innings, allowing an unearned run on five hits and a walk with three strikeouts. Chris Rivera was 1-for-3 with a home run (his third) and a hit-by-pitch, driving in two. Anthony Ray was 2-for-4 with a run.
The game: Tyler Mautner singled in a run in the second to give Elizabethton a 1-0 lead. Johnson City tied it in the fourth and took a 2-1 lead in the sixth when Rivera hit a home run. It was still 2-1 going to the bottom of the ninth, but a two-base error and a pair of productive outs enabled the Twins to tie the score. With one out in the tenth, the Cardinals went single, walk, single to load the bases and scored on a sacrifice fly. Elizabethton went down in order in the bottom of the tenth.
Of note: Jeremias Pineda was 1-for-4 with a walk. Tanner English was 1-for-5. Trey Vavra was 1-for-5.
GCL ORIOLES 2, GCL TWINS 1 AT ORIOLES (GAME 1--9 INNINGS--SCHEDULED 7 INNINGS)
Batting star: Amaurys Minier was 1-for-3 with a home run (his fifth) and a walk.
PItching stars: Starter Michael Theofanopolous pitched three innings, giving up one run on three hits and two walks with one strikeout. Miles Nordgren struck out two in 2.1 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and one walk. Alexis Tapia pitched two shutout innings, giving up one hit with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Jonatan Isenia struck out five in five shutout innings, allowing one hit and one walk. Zeke McGranahan struck out two in two shutout innings, allowing a walk.
The game: Ronarsy Ledesma homered in the third inning to give the Orioles a 1-0 lead. It looked like that might hold up, as the Twins did not get a hit until the fifth, but Minier led off the seventh with a home run to tie it at one. The Orioles won it in the ninth on a single, a stolen base-plus-error, and a passed ball.
Of note: Zack Granite was 0-for-3 with a walk. Corey Wimberly was 0-for-4. Manuel Guzman was 1-for-3.
GCL ORIOLES 2, GCL TWINS 1 AT TWINS (GAME 2--7 INNINGS)
Batting stars: Manuel Guzman was 2-for-3 with a hit-by-pitch. Ariel Montesino was 1-for-2 with a run.
Pitching stars: Josh Burris pitched three innings, giving up an unearned run on one hit and two walks with two strikeouts. Zach Tillery pitched two scoreless innings, giving up two hits.
Opposition stars: Brian Gonzalez struck out seven in 4.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and no walks. Jomar Reyes was 2-for-3 with two doubles and a run. Ronarsy Ledesma was 2-for-2 with a triple and a walk, driving in one.
The game: A throwing error brought in an Orioles run in the first. In the fourth, a Reyes double was followed by Ledesma's triple to make it 2-0 Orioles. The Twins got on the board in the sixth on a wild pitch. The Twins got the tying run to second with one out in the seventh but could not advance him farther.
Of note: Amaurys Minier was 0-for-1 before being removed from the game in the third inning for no obvious reason. Rainis Silva was 1-for-3.
DSL REDS 14, DSL TWINS 3 AT REDS
Batting stars: Edgar Herrera was 2-for-3 with a triple and a walk, scoring twice. Emmanuel Morel was 2-for-5 with a run. Jhonathan Alvarez was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk.
Pitching stars: Argenis Silva pitched 1.2 innings, giving up an unearned run on two hits and no walks with one strikeout.
Opposition stars: Alfredo Mena pitched five innings, allowing one run on seven hits and a walk with one strikeout. Derek Capitillo was 3-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two. Valentin Martinez was 1-for-2 with a triple, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch, scoring three times.
The game: An error allowed a run to score for the Twins in the first, but it went downhill from there. The Reds got two in the second and two in the fourth to go up 4-1, added another run in the fifth, got three more in the sixth, and capped it with a six-run seventh. The Twins actually out-hit the Reds 12-9, but Twins pitchers gave up eight walks and a hit batsman and the Twins went 2-for-17 with men in scoring position, stranding twelve.
Of note: Junior Amarante was 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Jermaine Palacios was 1-for-5. Lewin Diaz was 1-for-2 with a walk. Jadison Jimenez pitched five innings, giving up five runs (three earned) on seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
