I happened to catch part of Ron Gardenhire's Sunday morning show and he was saying (paraphrasing now) that Kyle Gibson came into his office yesterday and thanked him for sending him out for the 6th inning and apologized for not rewarding that faith in him. Gardy then send he loves sending out Gibson because he (Gardy) feels that the Twins have a chance to win a win he he (Gibby) is on the mound.
This might be really cynical, but it sounds like Gibson knows exactly how to not get into Gardy's doghouse. That's some solid self preservation.
And a higher level of intelligence than some of past players to go through the system.
This. Seriously, this.
Kershaw just made a great diving catch on a popped-up bunt, then threw back to third to double off Weeks who was coming in on a squeeze. You'll definitely see that on SportsCenter tonight.
But isn't there some preseason NFL news they might have to cover instead?
Or a 2015 mock NFL draft.
+1 4ltr blackout
Making my black ipa today, but in trying a first wort hopping technique because it's way more efficient with the bitterness. This one is going to be my flagship whenever I get the money to start my brewery.
Not sure if I've ever told this story, but one night I had a dream I was at Miller park and went to get a beer where I saw a tap handle I'd never seen before. The brewery was Angry Marvelous Brewing Company and the beer was Night School. It was a hyper vivid dream so when I tasted that very, it was unmistakably my black ipa. That sort of thing has never happened before, so I decided that was going to be the name of my brewery and all the beers would be named after school things.
Now I just need my dad or FTLT to win the lottery.
I will definitely invest in your eventual brewery. I've had cheapbrew, it's fantastic. People would definitely buy it. I even have two ideas for some beers.
Detention - something with an insane ABV
Recess - a nice session beer that's great for patio drinking
Recess is good for a session bee, I'm gonna hang on to that. The name Study Session was another thought I had for a lower alcohol beer. Basically, this is the most creative I've ever gotten.
Your summer Saison could be French Tutor.
cutting class ipa....school's out for summer (wheat beer).....teacher's pet brown ale.....
Wood shop smoked bock rolls off the tongue.
you could have the woodshop series of barrel aged specials.... okay, I'm in for 20%
Gymn Class Gueuze.
Also, I am in for when I strike it rich.
Senior Thesis Double IPA. Very bitter from a long boil.
Term Paper 90-Minute Ale.
Qualifying Exam Extra Stout.
Freshman Composition, a green-hopped pale ale.
That's gold, Jerry, gold!
Emeritus Ale. An Old Ale, of course.
I would probably have to import it, but I'd be all about that. I know that my brother - in-law would have loved the ultrahopped blonde ale you sent me a hear or two ago.
also, I need to get back into brewing this fall. I've been missing it terribly. I experimented with a pepper beer a while back, and while the spiciness was perfect, the balance of malts and hops left some to be desired.
I approve of anything that involves pepper.
Actually, I'm not sure I can even imagine what a pepper beer would taste like, but I'd like to find out.
It's got a pleasant warmth from the capsaicin of the pepper (I ended up using a single Trinidad Scorpion pepper in the two gallon of wort, so... there's some oomph there), but ideally, the beer itself should be crisp and refreshing.
I've had a couple of then with a jalapeño in the bottle, and it was intetesting, but sort of gimmicky. It didn't add much, but I think if I get everything right, it could be something tasty with the balance between the heat of the pepper and the refreshing qualities of the beer.
A very long - winded way of saying that if I get it right, I'll send some to anyone who wants some.
where do i sign up for the beer share list?
This is a thing that should actually exist.
we have a book list somewhere.....
I'd love to try it if you get it right!
He'll, I'd think just getting the right amount of spiciness is like, 80% of the battle for a very like that. It's probably too late in the summer, but I may have to consider trying one some day. Could be fun.
I think you should start a beer truck specializing in 1 barrel batches sold in growlers / refills. You'll make a small fortune. I'll take 10% as my consulting fee.
Oh my God. I should do that here in Austin. There are food trucks all over the damn place.
That might actually work around here. That fortune could probably be made at the farmers market alone.
In that case I'll take 15%
Yer a shrewd businessman.
I'm going to hit up mags for more because Austin.
How about unlimited fillups whenever you come to town?
I'm trying to figure out the licensing. I think that if I brew the beer in the truck itself, that I could theoretically apply for a brewpub license. If I brew it elsewhere and transport it to the truck, then I need a brewer's license, transport license, and off-site sales license. Again, I think. I'm not a lawyer.
I had a jalapeno beer at Banger's here in town. It was interesting, but I don't think I'll have another. When the spiciness hits the back of your throat and you want something to wash it down, all you've got is more spicy beer. It was a vicious cycle.
Well, it's certainly not something drink many of in one sitting.
Darren Wolfson @DarrenWolfson
Told #MNTwins 2nd rd pick Nick Burdi is heading to Ft. Myers. He'll be up here next year, I bet. Recently hit 103 on one scout's gun.
Can we put the guest video schedule in the Our Features page? I know I have this month, but I don't remember which week. Got a few picked out for whenever it is...thanks.
Usually an email mysteriously appears a few days in advance. At least that was my experience.
He may well be right. I don't know that I agree that this is how it should be, but it may very well be how it is.
FWIW, Lavelle thinks Gardy is 50/50 to return next year
Sad that the Angels aren't on that list.
Second best team in MLB tends to not have changes made. You will have to wait until Trout has a down year.
It's still sad, though.
Right. Trout has had good years and the Angels have been mediocre since he came up.
Sad that the Angels are finally winning again, and Scioscia's closer to another extension than he is to a pink slip.

Hmm, from this article looks like trucks can't do alcohol of any sort. Which I guess makes sense, because I haven't seen those trucks around here and there's no way we're the first people to have this idea.

This one here from TexMex Brewing - Fuego
Hmm... I might like to try that

Ken Rosenthal lists 10 teams that could very well decide to fire their GM or manager and the Twins don't make the list.
