A slugfest in Escogido.  Rain in Aguilas.

LICEY 11, ESCOGIDO 8 IN ESCOGIDO

Licey:  Nomar Mazara (Texas) was 3-for-3 with a double and two walks, scoring three times and driving in one.  Elmer Reyes (Atlanta) was 4-for-6 with three RBIs.  Warner Madrigal (Washington) pitched a perfect ninth with two strikeouts.

Escogido:  Buck Britton (Baltimore) was 1-for-2 with a three-run homer, his second.  Jordan Pacheco (Arizona) was 2-for-5 with a run and two RBIs.  Roberto Novoa pitched 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit with one strikeout.

The game:  Licey led 8-4 going to the bottom of the eighth, but Britton's three-run homer capped a four-run inning for Escogido that tied the score.  Helped by two errors, Licey scored three in the ninth to take the victory.
