Venezuelan View: Games of October 26

A three-run homer carries Margarita.  Scoring runs is right up Castillo's Ali.  Anzoategui doubles its pleasure against Lara.

MARGARITA 5, LA GUAIRA 2 IN LA GUIARA

Twins:  Aaron Hicks was 0-for-4 with a walk.

Margarita:  Eliezer Alfonzo was 1-for-4 with a three-run homer, his sixth.  David Peralta (Arizona) was 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI.  Eric Berger (Atlanta) struck out six in five innings, giving up two runs on seven hits and a walk.

La Guaira:  Heiker Meneses was (Boston) 2-for-5 with a home run, his second.  Jose Martinez (Atlanta) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk.  Gregory Infante (Toronto) pitched a scoreless inning, allowing a walk.

The game:  Alfonzo hit a three-run homer in the fourth to put Margarita up 3-1.  La Guaira cut it to 3-2 in the fifth but Margarita scored single runs in the sixth and seventh.

ZULIA 2, CARACAS 0 IN ZULIA

Caracas:  Felix Perez (Cincinnati) was 2-for-4.  Buddy Boshers (Angels) pitched 3.1 innings, giving up one run on one hit and one walk with one strikeout.

Zulia:  Ali Castillo (Yankees) was 3-for-4 with a triple and two runs.  Mark Minicozzi (San Francisco) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.  Eric Marzec (Milwaukee) pitched three shutout innings, allowing two hits and a walk.

The game:  Castillo tripled and scored in the first and singled and scored in the sixth.  Caracas had four hits, all singles.

ANZOATEGUI 4, LARA 2 IN ANZOATEGUI

Lara:  Gabriel Noriega (Seattle) was 2-for-4 with a double and a run.  Jairo Perez (Mets) was 1-for-4 with a home run, his third.  Richard Castillo (Colorado) struck out two in 1.1 scoreless innings, giving up a walk.

Anzoategui:  Tomas Perez (Colorado) was 1-for-4 with a two-run homer.  Jose Gil (Yankees) was 1-for-4 with a double, scoring once and driving in one.  Daryl Thompson pitched 5.1 innings, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk with three strikeouts.

The game:  Anzoategui hit three doubles in the sixth inning, scoring two runs to go ahead 4-2.  Lara put two on with two out in the seventh but did not threaten after that.
