This is the time of year where I start needing my light jacket, and I remember that yet again, I left it in Minnesota during my last visit.

Ugh, 4-6 weeks for Rubio. I think that pretty much kills any interest I had.
If there's any positive, when they're getting blown out every night for the next month and a half, maybe people will shut it about his shooting.
Mo and Mo Mo for the next month.
Not sure I'm prepared for a world with Zach Lavine playing 15 minutes at the point.
well played. Someday I'll post a pic of the virgin on a coke bottle that my good friend painted years ago.
Patron saint of the no-look bounce pass
Maybe this will be the year they finally win the lott.... hahahahaha just kidding!
Can anyone conceive of any situation in which the Lakers don't win the lottery? The Sixers will have the worst record, but the owners are mad at them for tanking the season.
"Rubio needs a coach that wont sit him because of a minor injury" Jim Souhan, penning his Sunday column right now.
+$1 WGOM
That means he would have to scuttle his "Why is Yeo coddling Zachary Parise" column.
HA!
I told you point guards are soft.
No, his column will blame Joe Mauer for the other pro sports following his example. He's the biggest star athlete and highest-paid athlete in Minnesota and the other teams are following suit by allowing players to accept their paychecks without taking the field/court/ice.
I don't have to be at work until 11 and I'm up earlier than I thought I'd be, so of course all the soccer games this morning are terrible match-ups.
Swedish digital archive is free this weekend, so I'll be digging for more documents on my ancestors. So far, so good...
related, I just learned on thursday about Castle Garden. Pre-Ellis Island immigration records.
Dude, you should have asked. Maybe I should put together a post sometime on genealogy research, if anyone is interested.
btw, contrary to popular myth, Ellis Island was not in the habit of doling out different or Americanized names for immigrants coming through there.
Please do, Rhu_Ru.
I have dabbled a bit (those in the know can see my public profile at wikitrees).
SecondedThirded! Some Nth cousin did a lot of research that we have and I've wanted to be able to merge it with what other people have dabbled in over time.Seconding doc: Yes! Please do. I have begun searching for my great-grandmother's immigration records. My mom and I are preparing a trip to Hungary next year. It will be the first time anyone in our family has been in Hungary in over a century. One of the things complicating the trip back is figuring out exactly where her village was, as it likely had a German name then and a Hungarian one now. (I know the German name, but want to be certain we visit the right place.)
Yes, you gave me some tips awhile back and they were quite helpful.
Ditto. My wife's family tree is going to be hard to beat, she can trace one branch back to John Alden of Mayflower fame, and another back to the Cartier family that sort of founded Canada.
There's a possibility I'm related to one Lawrence McGuire, Sr., born 1725 in Virginia and died at Valley Forge during the Revolution. That's on Ancestry from a tree someone else did that includes a possible forefather of mine, where name and birthplace match, but the birth year are off (1832 v.1834). It's close enough it's worth digging into more.
That's as far back as I've been able to find so far. Still no idea when my family came over from Ireland. I'd definitely welcome an article on further researching such things.
Mrs. Runner's direct line family came over from Ireland, and James Morgan fought at Gettysburg with the 14th out of Vermont. But a larger chunk of her family was out of the South.
My greatX4 grandfather (with high probability, anway) appears on a roll for a militia in Lancaster Co., PA during the Revolution, but no real evidence that he saw action. He and wife and (some of) his kids immigrated from Germany prior to the war.
Maxx Williams is kinda good
And another one just now.
Gofers are absolutely abusing iowa today.
Iowa cant stop the jet sweep, or Maxxxxxxx
My brother is at the game with his future brothers-in-law. He has no rooting interest either way.
Most points in a Big Ten game since a 63-26 win over Indiana 8 years ago in Glen Mason's final season.
Most points for Gophers vs. Iowa since a 55-7 win 65 years ago. Only the third time since 1917 Gophers have put up 50+ on Iowa.
Most points allowed by Iowa in any game since a 56-35 loss to Ohio State in 1995.
How did the Gopher lose to Illinois?
Bad start and a late fumble. Illinois had a bye before beating Minn, who was probably looking forward to the bye. I think the bye helped them against Iowa and hurt them against Illinois.
Today I wore my Twins jacket over my Vikings sweatshirt over my Cleveland Browns tee shirt. So I was warmly wrapped in three layers of futility.
One of those teams is not like the others.
Only by degree.
Count the rings
Correct. The Browns have a lot of rings.
I don't think it counts if those rings are in their ears.
Hah. No, I was thinking 1946-49 in the AAFC and 1950, 1954, 1955 and 1964 in the NFL. π
If I had to sit outside and chill my nuts brewing, doing it with this year's celebration ale helped.
For anyone with cable who's interested, I just found Minnesota United is on ESPN 3 right now.
Also on the local over the air station Channel 45.
