A big comeback for Caguas. A pair of big innings for Santurce.
CAGUAS 6, CAROLINA 5 IN CAGUAS
Carolina: Jeff Dominguez was 3-for-4 with a three-run homer and two doubles. Anthony Garcia (St. Louis) was 2-for-4 with a triple, scoring once and driving in two. Raul Rivera (Houston) pitched four innings, giving up two runs (one earned) on four hits and a walk with one strikeout.
Caguas: Ramon Castro was 2-for-4 with two doubles and two runs. Angel Sanchez was 1-for-2 with two walks and a run. Derek Blacksher struck out two in 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit.
The game: Carolina led 5-2 going to the bottom of the ninth, when Caguas scored four times to win the game. Johnny Monell's (Dodgers) single-plus-error brought home two runs to tie the score and Rey Navarro (Cincinnati) singled in the winning run.
SANTURCE 10, SAN JUAN 1 IN SAN JUAN
Santurce: Wilfredo Rodriguez (Colorado) was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in four. Yadiel Rivera (Milwaukee) was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two. Jorge Martinez pitched seven innings, giving up one run on two hits and no walks with six strikeouts.
San Juan: Jon Garcia (Dodgers) was 1-for-3 with a home run, his third. Manuel Soliman struck out three in 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and a walk.
The game: Santurce broke a 1-1 tie with five runs in the fourth, two scoring on Rivera's double. Santurce added four more in the eighth.
