Schilling: 127 ERA+ and 3.23 FIP, with 80.7 rWAR and 3,116 Ks in 3,261 innings. Smoltz: 125 ERA+ and 3.24 FIP, with 66.5 rWAR and 3,084 Ks in 3,473 IP. Hmmm.
I wouldn't have put Smoltz in in the first place. #SmallHall
What about the other two?
One of those three belongs, Twins-aided.
But not the other, non-Smoltz one? Interesting, I've generally considered those two to be very similar in career performance. The character clause does pull the other one down a good amount I think.
His fWAR chart is great. From ages 26-34 he once dropped below five wins, all the way to 4.7 in 2002.
Sour Cream woke up with a 102.3 temperature and I about celebrated because it's the lowest she's been since Sunday.
So had a physical and since I am a male of a certain age (cough over 50) it's time to talk colonoscopy. No purge and scope for this guy I get to poop in a box!
In all seriousness the advances in medical procedures for the last (what like 200?) years are amazing.
In my day, we chugged a gallon of Gavilyte...and we LIKED IT.
Shit, I just did that a couple months ago. The VA gives you no options.
Don't worry. I'm sure they will change practices...in 30 years or so.
This is very good news. I have a family history so my time is coming soon.
Ugh, all sorts of fun this morning. I woke up this morning, turned my car on to find the glow plug light flashing. I looked it up and the first result indicated it may be a brake light switch malfunction. So I went outside and checked and, sure enough, no brake lights. Of course, this was the day my wife was planning to take the kids to her sister's, so I had nothing to drive. I took my wife's car in to work quick to grab my laptop in case that wasn't the problem and it was something much worse, picked up a new switch on the way home (all of $6 worth). Once the kids were situated and on their way to the Dells, it took me a whole ten minutes to replace and I made the commute back in to work. Great start to the day.
In case anyone missed it (which seems likely so far), there's a post up for 2015 Guest DJ sign-up.
Happy 80th Birthday Elvis!!

I have a hard time wrapping my head around the concept that Elvis would be the same age as my parents.
Interestingly enough, he was when he died, too.
Uh huh. And my parents were not fans of the rock-and/or-roll when I was a kid. Hence my bewonderment.
Glad to hear some good news. You guys remain in our prayers.
Agreed.

words to live by, as seen in an Internet comment thread: "Never, ever, EVER, use the Internet to prove your wife wrong."
If you are proving your wife wrong, you are probably not doing it right.
Let's play a HOF game:
Pitcher A: 216-146 (.597), 3.46 ERA. Postseason record 11-2, 2.23
Pitcher B: 210-147 (.588), 3.26. Postseason record 15-4, 2.67
Pitcher C: 270-153 (.638), 3.68. Postseason record 7-8, 3.42
One of these players has been voted into the Hall of Fame. The other two have not.
I think we can all agree that the comment was both stupid and incorrect.
The "bloody sock" was fake.

Still one of my favorite singers.
Kevin Love: But wait, there's more!
Comparing him to Dwite Howard is a bit over the top, I think.
Bloody Sock will be the mascot. He'll be known as BS for short.
