Anzoategui beat Magallanes last night 16-5 to clinch the league championship. Felix Perez (Cincinnati) was 3-for-4 with two home runs and a double. Each team plays sixteen games in the round-robin playoff.

The league championship series between Culiacan and Jalisco starts tonight.
DOMINICAN WINTER LEAGUE
CIBAO 5, ORIENTE 3 IN CIBAO
Oriente: Audy Ciriaco (Cleveland) was 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk. Lew Ford was 1-for-2 with a home run. Randy Boone struck out four in 2.2 scoreless innings, giving up one hit and one walk.
Cibao: Mel Rojas, Jr. (Pittsburgh) was 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and two runs. Wilson Betemit was 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Mario Santiago pitched 5.2 innings, allowing an unearned run on four hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
The game: Rojas hit a two-run homer in the third to put Cibao up 2-1, Betemit homered in the fourth to make it 3-1, and a run was walked in in the fifth to make it 4-1. Oriente did not get the tying run up to bat.
Series status: The best-of-nine series is tied at two games apiece.
PUERTO RICAN LEAGUE
MAYAGUEZ 8, SANTURCE 2 IN MAYAGUEZ
Santurce: Ruben Sosa (Houston) was 2-for-3 with a double and a walk. Reymond Fuentes (Kansas City) was 1-for-3 with a double and a walk, scoring once. Ricardo Gomez pitched a perfect inning with one strikeout.
Mayaguez: Ozzie Martinez (Baltimore) was 3-for-5 with a double and two runs. Luis Figueroa was 2-for-5 with a double, scoring once and driving in two. Zack Segovia struck out seven in six shutout innings, allowing two hits and two walks.
The game: Mayaguez scored seven in the second and the game was never close again. Mayaguez batted thirteen in the inning, which featured a two-run homer by Daniel Ortiz (Minnesota) and a two-run double by Figueroa.
Series status: Mayaguez takes a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.
