Not anymore. Plain youtube URLs should work now. Doing this because I suspect the plugin uses an API that is a bit slower and maybe WordPress's builtin version is faster. Following up, the above is just https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vD94dVu8lqQ on its own line.

  Posts have had this feature for a while. We couldn't use it for much of that time due to the WGOM using https and WordPress not working all that well with it. The only issue at this point is the featured image would be missing but that is an easy fix.
  
  My thought is to try it. The plugin will remain around for a while. If it works out okay, then it's one less thing to keep up to date.

    I'll try it out for tomorrow's post. I remember in the past, the formatting could be a little wonky, but that was awhile ago.

      And I just realized two things. First, nothing to fix for the featured image on WGOM video posts; it should keep working. Second, I think I also enabled turning twitter URLs into proper embedded versions.
