I really really really really really really... felt ambivalent about this song.
I was a fairly big Carly Rae apologist around the time of Call Me Maybe, but I legitimately and wholly-unironically love this song. I understand that it's 99% the work of the producers but it's freakin' great.
Do I need to hear the studio version?
The studio version is a little cleaner, but it doesn't really offer anything more than this. You just have to be in the mood for a total retro slow jam Prince rip-off. Listening to this song makes me feel like I'm on a field trip to the Roller Garden, in the best possible way.
I will have to listen again with this in mind. When I heard the song this morning I was . . . less than enthralled.
