    1. I had the problem one year in HS track; a foam pad with a quarter-sized hole cut in it centered on the heel helps a bit. Or, TJ surgery.

    2. So, I have been battling fairly severe heel and arch pain on and off for about 8 months. When I tore my meniscus last August, and put off surgery, I leaned way too much on my good leg. Then, post surgery on my knee, I continued to lean way too much on my good leg. As a result, major foot pain resulted. Talking to my orthopedic surgeon, he recommended stretching first thing every morning. While laying on your back while raising your leg, take a towel and hook it around your foot and grab both ends with your hands and pull the end of your foot toward you, getting a good stretch. Also, ice the heck out of it each night. This helped me, but did not fully remedy, until I took my 8 weeks off to prepare to open my business. Now, 4 weeks into being back on my feet (on tile all day) my heel pain is coming back. So, back to stretching and icing.

      1. I've had crazy heel pain for the last year, and have found relief in a pair of hippy-dippy birkenstock clogshoes, the same stretch you describe, standing on a tennis ball and rolling back and forth, and then at the end of the day standing on a frozen 20z coke bottle. Yeah, the birks help daily, but I look like a dip. Oh well.

  1. I know the Wild play again tonight, but its amazing how fast apathy set in once this series started.

    1. After game two, I felt like they were just being outclassed. After game three, I decided it was probably over. The Wild have to work so hard for goals whereas the Blackhawks have shown the ability to score seemingly at will. Even if the Wild can get back to Chicago, I think it's going to take a minor miracle for them to get another game in St. Paul.

      1. Despite years and years and years of practice.

Our buddy Moss called me this morning. He was jabbing me on the Wolves, as is his wont. I told him that I obviously hate myself (because I'm still at least nominally a fan), but not enough to continue to watch every game when they went into the tank.

  2. Morning game alert: The Red Wings host Indianapolis at 10:00 Central today.

  3. Trueblood wrote an article for BP. It got picked up by another site. Then last night's Cubs broadcast included a discussion of the article and he got his name dropped in the process.

    1. Cool. I don't subscribe to BP, but I've been reading anything I can access through the Fox Sports site and BP freebies. I like how many different topics he's able to cover.

    2. Not surprised. He writes good stuff.
Wish he'd write more about the Twins than some NL teams, but you know what they say about the inverse correlation between being beggars and being a chooser.

      1. It is pretty amazing how far we still have to go to recognize what is appropriate and what isn't. I wish that I could say that I was big enough to recognize the problem without having it being a personal issue. However, I will say that holding my baby daughter opened my eyes to this. My thinking on all sorts of things dramatically changed when she came around. I just wish I had been smart enough to figure it out before her.

        1. Same here. I mean, the most important thing is that it got figured out, though. I presume the people who made/approved of this thing have or have had significant others and/or kids, friends, family, all that and yet, it still got made and broadcasted.

      1. Good gravy, the level is stupid sounds even worse when the video is put into words.

  4. The University of North Dakota solicited input for a new nickname and released the suggested names in two lists, the names under consideration and that ones that were rejected. No filter. Everything out in the open. OMG.

The following was on the list of names that they are considering: "2's". The rationale provided for that suggestion?

    'Spoiler' SelectShow

ON THE LIST OF NAMES THEY ARE CONSIDERING.

    LOL.

    1. Didn't get very far before I found one I liked nearly as much: Abdominal Snowmen

      'Spoiler' SelectShow

The rational isn't accurate, but it's pretty funny.

[edit] soo many good ones. Thanks Boss, this made my morning.

        1. Maybe you like this one:

Dragons: powerful unique, universally recognized. it flows/rhymes with ND "North Dakota Dragons". Dragon compliments current green color with flame

        2. True enough. I should not punch down like this. But when you have your former rival implode so spectacularly, it's pretty hard not to enjoy it.

            1. I did not submit any names. This is the one (ON THE CONSIDERATION LIST!) that I wish I would have submitted:

Baby Bison: Much like the University of Ohio's juxtaposition to Ohio State University in national sport prominence, UND will become a little cousin

    2. I appreciate that the reasoning on both lists seems to generally indicate the same level of literacy/intelligence (although SIGNIFICANTLY more f-words on the non-considered list). Sports team mascots seem to be the real-life manifestation of the internet.

      1. Put yourself in the submitter's minds.
"What, I have to have a reason to do something on the internet?"

    3. No respect for North Dakota's Duck-hunting heritage.
      None of these were nominated:
      Canvasbacks
      Redheads
      Pintails

However, 4 nominations for "Superb Owls" and one for "Supurb Owl"
      (On "Consideration list")

  5. My brother made the WCCO news last night, because the hospital he was in threw him a prom when he had to miss his own. It was a pretty cool thing they did for him.
