  1. heh, minnesota nice. after gordon slammed into the wall going after that plouffe homer, a fan leaned over and (non-derisively) asked if he was okay.

  2. Hunter showing more life at the plate arguing with the ump than the entire team did this series,

    1. That is not an endorsement of what Hunter did. He should probably be suspended a game for that tantrum.

      1. Watched the game from 3 rows behind the camera well on the visitor's side ... that thing started in about the second inning - ump was not consistent all night long. Also, ii gave the fans a smile before he started undressing for the locker room. Told my buddy that Hunter would be seeing a pretty solid fine, and rightly so.

        1. Yeah, it quickly became mugging for the cameras. I did get a mild kick out of when (after?) Molitor got tossed, he didn't bother holding ii back and they were both in the ump's face. R.U.N.

  3. Lost two out of three to the second worst team in baseball and then swept by the best team. Goodbye smoke and mirrors, it was nice knowing you.

    1. Dunno if I would say best in baseball right now; maybe in the AL. I would argue the Twins will get their chance to be swept by the best when they do home and home with the Cardinals next week.

      1. I dithered over whether to use best or second best. BR's SRS rated the Royals higher so I leaned that way.

  4. Yay! More pitchers!

Is this a deck chair move, or is it just me?

    1. Tonkin over Stauffer is a definite upgrade. Polanco was only up for the one game. I don't understand why the Twins are staying at 13 pitchers, though. Only used 1 reliever tonight. Twins only have four batters that have hit better than Arcia did before he got hurt. The outfield defense is definitely better but it won't matter much if we can't score runs.

        1. Danny Santana, on the other hand.... 5 for 9 with a pair of doubles in two games so far.

I'd have to imagine that they'd keep him down for a month or so to get his confidence back at the plate.
