Byron Buxton was placed on the DL with a thumb injury. Can the Twins win a game without him? I hope so!

lots of remote use tonight with the USWNT and baseball on at the same tiem.
Bulldozed!
Gladden is ragging on Lohse for giving up so many home runs, conveniently ignoring the fact that Phil Hughes has given up about the same number of honers.
Hughes is a Twin - what's your point?
I dunno--consistency, I suppose. A lot to ask from Gladden, I know.
Right. He has been much better this season; maybe helps to be winning?
I've thought he's been much better since Provus came along a few years ago. Cutting him back to three innings of play-by-play helps, too.
Way to work the count, guys!
So, Lohse isn't a ground ball pitcher it appears
It's at least unusual to have each team start the game with a home run. I wonder how many times that's happened.
I missed when it last happened for the Twins, but according to Provus it happened earlier this year.
He said the last time it happened in a Twins game was 2006.
RonDL White went 2-3 with a HR. That must have been his best day in a Twins uniform.
Hmmph. Do unto others
I miss Buxton already
So it can only get better from here, right?
This is not a good start. ><
USA USA USA!
Now we see why Alex was brought up
Max Scherzer have it into the 6th inning before giving up a hit. wow
New guy coming in the game in the first inning.
Can the Twins go back to playing the White Sox?
Rough debut for Meyer.
Aaron Gleeman @AaronGleeman
Ben Revere just hit a home run off Max Scherzer. What an incredible day.
PLOUFFFFFE!
we're coming we're coming!
Plouffe with 72 career home runs. Tied with Matt Lawton in 26th place on the all time Twins list.
Looking back at the Doug Mientkiewicz trade, the Twins totally got hosed
July 31, 2004: Traded as part of a 4-team trade by the Minnesota Twins to the Boston Red Sox. The Boston Red Sox sent Nomar Garciaparra and Matt Murton to the Chicago Cubs. The Montreal Expos sent Orlando Cabrera to the Boston Red Sox. The Chicago Cubs sent Francis Beltran, Alex Gonzalez and Brendan Harris to the Montreal Expos. The Chicago Cubs sent Justin Jones (minors) to the Minnesota Twins.
Twins missed out on [redacted] and just had to get him.
